Hi Folks,
I have just started venturing into BHW and I am amazed at the things that can be achieved using the advice given here.
I am not looking for answers handed to me on a plate but rather a gentle push in the right direction to help me monetize my sites. Here is where I am right now.
I recently registered two websites with Googles 'Get British Business Online' incentive. One of the sites includes an amazon aStore and sells toys and games for kids.

WizEdit: Link Removed.

(apologies if posting a link breaks T&C, I will edit if this is the case)

My second site is for my band and a promotional hub for our online radio show:

WizEdit: Link Removed.

Both websites have adsense throughout their pages. I have put together both sites with little knowledge of web design (although I am quite handy with photoshop). I have no training in business or marketing.

So a plea to the patrons of BHW. Where should I begin getting these sites bringing home the bacon?

Thank you and hope I have not offended with my noobishness!

Firstly, I think you have pretty much no need for blackhat techniques at the moment. You created a couple of sites and put adsense on there to monatise them, which is cool.

If I were you I'd concentrate on making a few quid on those sites before moving on to any other projects. One of the dangers of this forum is data overload; if your easily distracted or are an ideas person, you will find it hard to stick with any one thing as there are so many potential money making ventures available.

Try concentrating on a couple of keywords to get your sites up in the Google rankings. This will bring you organic targeted traffic and will allow you to get some nice clicks on your adsense ads. Once you have your keywords (you will want to research these, maybe in marketsamurai which is in the downloads section) you should start link building. You could even add some clickbank or commission junction products on there.

Once you make enough to be able to outsource some of the work (link building and copyrighting) you should rinse and repeat with several more websites. This is probably the simplest way to get started and you won't be risking anything. Keep the content fresh and the designs seo friendly and you'll do fine!

If after doing this you want to scale up, you can look into CPA promoting (perhaps with blackhat techniques) autoblogging (if google hasn't totally killed these by then), content locking and social marketing etc.

Wow. Thanks Lawndog. That is definitely something for me to focus on. I am easily distracted and this is why BHW was so overwhelming. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Build content, build links, read this forum, repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

ton of information on here, better than a college degree and you can learn at your own pace.

Better than a college degree? Unless you can put your money where your mouth is, please do. What you learn in college is much more robust in every category of economy, society, history, philosophy, language, availability to technology and tools, and critical thinking than this site or 95% of any other single site will ever provide.

I understood what you were trying to say, but the context was wrong since there is no college degree to what visitors and members are trying to learn here. Imagine having a college degree and income from a real job to propel an idea with your personal time with the content on this site - totally awesome potential.
