    Newbie here,

Long story short, I am planning to build a network of blogs (domains), is it recommended to use different hosting (e.g. Bluehost) for all my domains or use different hosting for each domain?

Also, (prob a stupid question), if I use different proxies to update/work on different domains (but the same hosting) will it be detected and penalized by google?

    -Thanks in advance!

Common advice is that if you host multiple websites on the same hosting account, have them be in different niches. Or if you want to be safest, give each their own host, hosting account, etc. Depends how valuable the websites are and what you're using them for.

    >Also, (prob a stupid question), if I use different proxies to update/work on different domains (but the same hosting) will it be detected and penalized by google?
Unless you're hosting the websites through a hosting service run by Google, your hosting service generally wouldn't share your IP with Google.

What do you mean by "planning to build a network of blogs"?

Do you want to make a PBN or what?

For PBN different hosting for each site is mandatory IF all your site is pointing to one particular site.

    Hi,

I think you should buy multiple hosting if you are planning to create a PBN. But, it will be costlier to you. So, you should buy Multiple IP hosting where you will get the different different IP for each domain hosted over there.

    Thanks

If you're going to build a PBN with a huge number of domains, best practice is to host them in different hosting providers.

Its advisable to use different hosts so that you get diffetent ser of IPs too and save your whole network from getting banned.

Mandatory? So your saying the PBN will not pass juice to the same site if there hosted on the same IP? Thats hard to believe - anyone have a case study on this?

Of course nothing is mandatory. You can do whatever pleases your heart.

And that's exactly what he's saying, why is it hard to believe? Would look very suspicious if you had a lot of backlinks all coming from a bunch of different blogs, and yet all those blogs have the same server IP address.

So with that logic and again no case study, then having more than one web 2.0 from each site (tumblr, wordpress) etc is pointless, unless they're assigned different IPs which most are not.

It's one thing to look suspicious and have a high chance of loosing your PBN, it's another to not pass juice.

How do you define passing juice?

Your point seems invalid because big sites like Tumblr (as a whole) are probably looked at by Google differently than say ... your 30 personal blogs (hosted on the same web hosting package at godaddy) would be.

That the domain will successfully pass value in Googles eyes to another domain.

I'm not taking it that extreme though, I'm stating if my 2 personal blogs both link out to the same site and have the same hosting, what makes that different than two different sites being hosted on the same shared hosting plan by different owners linking out to the same site. It just sounds crazy that Google would block or blacklist sites from passing juice over to another domain because they are hosted in the same place. That would also mean several different links from the same domain would be invalid and pointless too, even if two pages have completely separate backlinks.

Again do you have any case study on this, or do all of you just regurgitate the same broscience with no factual evidence?

Thanks for clarifying and good question, but now you've changed your specifics than your stated argument in post #10.

In your post #10, you stated free blogs such as Wordpress and Tumblr. I think there is a big difference between having a blogs hosted on these types of sites which have really high trust and authority in the eyes of google, vs. your personal blogs you started on domains that were freshly registered and share the same IP.

    #broscience all the way bro

Free sub domain blogs have a high trust in the eyes of Google which can be created with automated software? This subforum gets better everyday, I really do wonder how many of you actually make any money. I hope the broscience gets you guys places.

Why to go with bluehost to build your pbn? You can try vps from profitserver.ru you can get a decent vps for like 2 usd per month, and it is vps not shared hosting. On bluehost vps starts from 20 usd. with 20 usd per month you can pay 20 vps on profitserver and you can run 20 sites, every site with his own IP.

It's not that they won't pass juice. It's just you're waving a huge red flag to attract G, which is constantly on the hunt for PBNs to deindex. Nothing is "mandatory" - the point is that if you're trying to hide a PBN, there are best practices to follow and one of the most important is to use different hosting providers (as opposed to different IPs with the same provider, which are usually in the same class-C and just as easy for G to see).

Hosting it is one of the biggest stress among the users those who are maintaining a huge network of blogs. It is not easy to maintain such a big network you need to be very careful in hosting your blogs without footprint, otherwise you make end up by putting all the eggs in one basket.

There are many ways of hosting your blogs. When it comes to building a big network, then multiple shared hosting is the smart way and it saves you some bucks. If you have good budget, then mix up your hosting with the Bluehost and Hostgator for some diversity and to avoid footprint.
