Most of what I run into isn't a ranking problem. It's a data problem wearing a ranking problem's clothes.
Business shows up in the wrong city. Old phone number sitting on half the internet. Two profiles for one location, both half-built. Category set by whoever filled in the form three years ago and never looked at it since.
None of that is an algorithm being difficult. It's records being wrong.
Which makes me think most of what gets sold as local SEO work is really just data cleanup with better branding.
Tell me where that breaks down, because I'm probably overweighting it.
