Hi guys,
I've been learning a lot lately about keyword research and micro niche sites. I have found a few keywords that I "think" are good to rank for, but I need some guidance. Currently, my strategy is as follows:

• Find main long tail keyword
• Find 5 related keywords with similar search/CPC stats
• Purchase .com/.net EMD
• Write 4-5 articles targeting the 5 related keywords & main long tail
• Submit sitemap to Google
• MANUAL backlinking on .edu high PR sites and others that I find here on BHW (Because I'm broke and can't buy Xrumer etc) by leaving a comment and my website link, sometimes with anchortext if they allow.
• Submit the articles I write to ezinearticles.com

I don't know how to check where I'm ranking in Google, what free stuff can I use to get data about that? Also, am I missing something here? I feel like there are certain holes in my process that you guys could help me identify. If you don't feel like sharing your thoughts in this thread, feel free to PM me. Thanks

You can Use Rank Tracker. It's available in the download area or you can try the trial (save projects doesn't work).

I've actually done research since posting this thread and I ended up getting "Cute Rank" because I have a Mac. Rank Tracker looked great though

are u goin to get real visitors from ezine? Lots of articles with ur link doesnt affect ur ranking

I'm submitting my articles there to show that my content is 100% unique. I feel like Google doesn't rank sites well that have spun content, plus I wouldn't mind having my articles sourced or referenced on other sites.
