wholy cow i reAD AND re read the post and all the comments and i am still scratching my head. i dont have enough experience in IM yet to follow this thread and i feel screwed because it is probably a very good way of making money. thansk for the method OP. subscribed, so when i can understand teh vocab, i can come back and hope to get your method.

Was asked about this via PM as well.

My own take on this is that people have become used to seeing own domains
for links. So, what I have been doing is using domains, some general, some
niched, like:

awesomedownloads.com
fabbyshares.com
etc, you get the idea...

Then, I make folders, and place these pages in there, sometimes as the
index, sometimes in subfolders, so the links I share are more like:

awesomedownloads/mediafire
fabbyshares.com/rapidshare
etc

Hasn't bothered my visitors at all, the CTR on my links is nice and steady,
and the conversion rate is almost beyond my wildest dreams ;)

I DO take the time to offer up some decent stuff to download though, try to
tighten it around whichever niche I'm hammering, and genuinely send my
visitors on to the real download.

Nope, none of those domains above are mine, nor do I even know if they're available, lol

One last thing - please don't PM me asking about free lockers, they abound
on BHW already, and one has been posted in this thread also.
I can't help you either with acceptance into Gateway Networks, again,
search, there are numerous guides and people better placed to offer advice
in that area than me.
Even though I've been here a number of years, I've never really been much
of a poster, cos I'm always busy coding. So, I'm still classed as a Newbie,
and my PM inbox can only hold 100 PMs, so flooding it with requests for
locking solutions which compete with my own product, or advice on how to
join Gateway Networks is doing nothing to "inspire me" to continue sharing!
Otoh, I DO welcome PMs from people who have thought things through, and
want to discuss twists, ask sensible questions regarding their own spins, or
any other questions they need answers to, but I will NOT do this for you,
nor will I spoonfeed you any more than I have done already - thanks for
understanding :)

Can we use blogger.com as a way to upload the files to the website say bhw.blogspot.com? I prefer not to use money right now to buy a site and set up hosting and then upload the files. I want to start from scratch first.

Also, are you using sharecash or are you using cpa networks with content gateway?

Hmmm, I get that this part can seem confusing...

In the supplied code in the thread, the display for the link was a word, TEST.
If you want the display for your link to be an image, replace TEST with the
location of your image, like so:

HTML: 
Original:

>TEST</a>

Replaced:

><img src=path/to/image></a>
One other thing, often, when hyperlinking your image, a blue box will appear
surrounding it, thus destroying your "slices". Just add border=0 to avoid that.

As for the html generated when you output your slices, all that does is wrap all
of your slices in a table, with each slice in its own cell. Find the slice you want
to use as your "linked" image, and wrap the code around it, still within the cell.

Make sure you replicate that cell, as only one of the two will show up at any one time ;)
Use View Source in the demo to see the implementation of what I've just
explained.

Can't see a reason why you couldn't use free webspace, I explained in the post
how to go about it.

With regards to your second question, dude, you haven't "got it" at all :(
I suggest you start from the beginning, don't just grab and copy the code, read
the whole post. If you had read it thoroughly, you'd see what I mean about not
getting it.

Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to just throw this out there...folks, I can
help, but you need to at least be able to READ on your own!

Totally Agree!!! This is Jr. VIP Stuff, should not be in here at all, this will ruin the whole method. I already implemented it and made 25$ within 2 hours!

Neat idea of making a duplicate web page of a mediafire download using image strips and manipulating the download image strip with a rotating url script.

A better method using full webpage image as link

It would be probably easier for newbies to take the full screenshot of the mediafire page, open it up in a photo editor like paint.net and save the image at a lower quality jpeg, on paint.net you can save at 90% quality which reduces the file size considerably.

This will help load the image quicker and the single full webpage image can be presented as the first image link for the content lock, and also the second image link for the mediafire redirect.

Saves the messing around with creating image strips.
 
Thanks, this will be worth to give it a shot. I suggest to non vips to copy and safe it. This will proberly be moved soon.

The easiest method was to iframe MF, but they bust out of iframes :(

I tried your suggestion next, back when I started out, but either the image quality is just awful, or it takes an eon to load.

In spite of TOTALLY lacking Photoshop skills, that's what drove me to "slice"
rather than just presenting a full page image.

I "think" I mentioned in the original page that slicing was not a MUST though,
and yes, what you suggest doesn't look so good, but it's definitely easier.
 
well the full size image at 100% jpeg is 480k, and at 90% jpeg is 184k with no loss of image quality.
 
There's a neat little piece of free software called Screenhunter that'll give you a fairly good pic at not too high resolution.

Long time since I tried, tbh, but have just thrown it up as a proof of concept:

Will let you decide, but I'd run a mile from a site that looked like that, and

Thanks for your reply, That makes sense. I was thinking either that, or use subdomains so you could have www.mediafire.lockedcontent-385823.com , something like that... I think it may look slightly less bogus than a /mediafire to some one semi-savvy , if someone is fully savvy, obviously they should spot it.

Ok seen as people are contributing to this bit by bit , here is mine which are probably reasonably well known, but they are relevant. if you have the time, you could do the file uploading. If you do that then you can capitilize even more , by :

-adding a Other-Hot-Albums-Links.txt (if the download is for an album, etc.) to your zip, in which you have more links to some other of your fake mediafire pages

and/or

-Inside the main (unpassworded) zip , put a passworded zip and a password.txt , which includes a link to a content locked site giving them the password. That might be pushing it !

You could use linkbucks to semi mask the URL, and earn an extra .0002 cent or whatever the hell it is per click, as i mentioned above.

show us one with the image strips, and i will get a better idea. anyway most of the banners on mediafire animate, so even using the image strips the page doesn't look that natural.

was only trying to help newbies that were struggling with image strips anyway, just adding a bit of a twist.
 
Awesome share, how about iframing a mediafire download page so the banners/top is all animated but only have the download link an image on your server so when it is clicked then the content lock pops up.

Would look very real if you could do it.

Also I think it would increase conversions more if the link was like.

instead of

downloadnow.us/download.php

Just throwing some things in I thought of immediately.

Going to implement this one I think :)

The one with the sliced images is in the Demo, near the bottom of my OP.

Clear your history, or perform full refreshes (holding Shift down) to fully reload
each version from scratch, and you'll see the differences I'm referring to.

Nevertheless, what you suggested IS helpful and, for noobs, is definitely a
viable option, at least until they learn to read, or to do some research for
slicing.
