[Method/Idea with facebook pages] will it work?

Hey hi,

I have an idea, maybe is obvious to you and you gonna feel that I've just discovered america. But for me wasn't so obvious at this time.

First my question is:

Is there any way to monetize a multiple facebook fanpage with a few thousands likes (all from different topic/niche)?.

Here is my idea:
I saw that many social profiles (tumblr/twitter/facebook pages) reach a lot of audience in a couple of days/hours if the page is related to something trending. So my idea is to create every week a facebook page that is related to a trending topic, for example, many of you should have seen the guy who make a Potato Salad on kickstarter and now has $50k, so the first days of this news the facebook pages related to potato salads were more likely to have likes, than any other day in the year.

Another example is a tumblr called sadbrazilians it was created after the game of germany-brazil, I saw the tumblr on the trending tumblrs section of the tumblr app, I'm pretty sure it gain thousands of followers that same day.

Again this is just theory, I know is kind of hard to smell the early trending topics on the web (google trend would be too slow for this task), but just think in one month: you create 4 pages of trending/viral topics and every page gain at least 5-10k likes without making to much content. At the end you will have 40k likes in different niches and facebook pages.

do you think this have some potential for earning money?

The question isn't whether you can monetize the pages, the question is whether your pages will actually generate that many likes based off a trend. Facebook trends is usually all high authority pages showing trending results. Also hashtags are pretty useless on facebook. So yeah if you can manage to get a quick organic 5-10k fans, i'm sure you could make money if you have enough combined fans across a lot of pages.

That's the only way you'll really be able to know. There's always variables that go unaccounted for til you give it a shot and make some tweaks. Best of luck.

This can work but probably for short term only... Making a page on some trending topic will get you likes but after few days they will be inactive and page becomes useless.

But you can always try this on your own only then you will come to know.

You may better concentrate on building a single page based on this trending "scheme" and keep it as active as its possible. Make around a 100 000'(the half will do too) fans and PM me to tell you how to monetize it ..

I actually like the idea. However, if someone was already have this and actually work out on it to have more bucks, that will be a bomb in marketing strategy.
