This method will not work for anyone who isn't willing to get creepily specific with who they are targeting with their ads.
Things this method does NOT include:
Facebook.
Google.
Bing.
Names of the Ad networks used. You have google. You can find them.
Any traditional Ad network talked about here.
Things included in this post:
A general talk through of how this works.
Real world example using Baby niche. (no screen shots due to my own lack of care about doing so. Believe me or don't it's up to you.)
We are here to capitalize on the needs of others and the wants of others. Thats what IM is in a nutshell so lets talk about how we can tap into a large data pool that I have no seen talked about here.
Data brokers.
What is a data broker?
I'm glad you asked. A data broker is the creepy cross site cookie collector that sells your data to marketers and the reason targeted ads even exist. Yes google and facebook do this for us but the sources I'm talking about will send you all the data they have on your provided demographics for a small fee and some even offer to advertise to them directly for you.
How can we leverage this data source for our own means?
With how specific we can be with these data sets we can target to a neighbor hood in a city, yes that dialed in.
So lets throw up a quick store on shopify, say its in the Baby niche, and say I made this whole things in a matter of 4 hours using a few suppliers for the US that promise 1 week delivery.
Now my demographics are Pregnant or have a child less than year old. Makes 50-100k/year, is known to make impulse purchases, female, and lives in an area with little to no crime(many of these people have no threat perception due to their surrounds ALWAYS being safe).
Now I was lucky enough to go with a data broker that also offers direct advertisements via banner ads.
Loaded up $50 worth of ad budget into their online portal, they collect data for a living they will know who you are or have a good idea of it even if you try to hide it.
Then I waited a week. In that time I was able to secure 4 crib sales, which my margin was ~$70 each.
Expenses:
Free trial of shopify $30 afterwards(I didn't pay this I canceled it)
$10 Domain name
$75 Data broker data fee
$50 Ads (5 ads 3 of which were sale generating)
TOTAL: $135
Profits:
$280 profit margin from sales
-$135 from above
$145 Total profit from a week.
While thats nothing AMAZING it does make me want to take a deeper dive into drop shipping as a whole using a data brokerage firm rather than facebook and google ads. I spent a lot less time setting this up than I have in the past for drop shipping, and I have FAILED at drop shipping using facebook and google.
