I'm very interested in this. So in order to work, how much views do we have to buy? Will 100k do? Also do we must buy geo targeted views in order to work or worldwide views will do too?

I also think your results will be much better if there are about 2k likes, 100 dislikes, some youtube shares. This things are also required to rank.

i chose several locals that i managed to do get to their trending list easily, i didn't tried spain, i still don't know if i can allocate enough traffic from spain

here i tried to target 8 locals lists at the same time, so i guess it can be done with 1/8 of the traffic if you get only one local, it's the VPH (views per hour) from a spesific local that counts here and of course you must outnumber the competition (other videos on the most popular list )

yes, #1 in germany and he dropped to #87 in canada, i guess he is using the same method...
 
So what you're saying is, by buying lots of youtube views, youtube will rank you higher due to the amount of views, and intern you'll generate additional traffic.

It's like you reinvented the wheel...

it all depends, on the local you want to target, and how long you want to stay on that list. as soon as you stop the promotion the VPH (views per hour) rate will drop and so does the listing of your video, on each local you must beat the average VPH of many other videos to get into the list, but you can be gone very soon, so plan this carefully.

And where do you buy the views?
 
Do you think a specific upload time would help improve this method? For example, upload the same type of content that another featured channel uploads and get ranked on the popular page alongside the other popular person. This way you'll get even more organic clicks because of the amount of people already looking for that kind of content.

Also, any plans on trying to get on the popular page in countries like Canada, U.S.A, etc.?

yes ,this test is on a brand new account, video was uploaded immediately and traffic started immediately.

well this is a nice trick i tried before, and yes it will work, if the video is about a trending event, that many other are uploading quickly, you have a huge leverage here, you can even outrank the big networks (if you have a copyright free news content for example, youtube will give you the highlights)

USA and CA and other tier 1, are very competitive, and you have youtubers with millions of subs, you can't compete them, it will be very expensive even to try...
 
How much do you need to try this method? I have a recent project and I'm introducing on YouTube. It's a very competitive niche but I think I have something to say... :)
And it will be a great way to learn.

i guess that the trending effect wear off given the timing it enter to trending list, and if the traffic rate stay the same without growing (as viral videos does) but this is a subject for another experiment.
