[Method] Combine CPA + PPD & Making Money by Giving Away Websites

I'm not a frequent poster here, but I've been lurking this site for a while. This is probably my longest post so far, and I'm psyched to finally have something useful to share here with all of you.

I guess this post is partly a tutorial, partly a request for advice, and also Step 0. of a journey I'm about to undertake.

For the past few months, I've been running a digital downloads Wordpress website that links to an external PPD filehosting service (Rapidgator) which I've combined with CPA offers.

Basically, a visitor navigates to a post on my site containing the images and data associated with the file they want to download. They 'unlock' their download link by completing a CPA offer which then reveals the external link when they complete the offer. This CPA offer makes me some money and I rake and a few more pennies when they download the file from my PPD host.

My entire site is managed by a CSV file that contains all of the text, image information, file data, and links. This is great because it allows me to import hundreds of new posts at once and create CPA content lockers for all of the related downloadable files instantly.

It's really easy for me to import new posts and links this way, but the downside is that I don't have much time to focus on driving traffic to the site. Other than a handful of social media posts and some AI-generated articles, I've been too busy with other stuff to focus on maintaining a steady traffic flow.

This got me thinking...

"What if I could outsource my traffic needs to other people and just worry about maintaining my files and links?"

I think I found a way to do exactly that.

The diagram and steps listed below that explain everything are pretty lengthy, so here's the tl;dr version:

1. I supply copies of my CSV file, images, templates, and plugins to other site owners.
2. They use my resources to easily build their own download websites monetized with their own content lockers or other methods, to which they drive their own traffic and make their own money.
3. Their visitors are then redirected to my 'bridge' page and filehost where I make my money.

That's the basic plan I'm aiming for, which should be simple enough for anyone to copy or improve.

The full details with an illustrated diagram explaining the steps are found below.



Step 1: Organize and Prepare Resources for Site Owners

My 'money site' in this plan is really just a central website where I explain this process and make all the necessary images, themes, and plugins available for site owners to download and implement themselves. Most importantly, the main CSV file is also made available. This CSV file is the backbone of this whole system. It contains all of the post text, image names, and external download links for files. It also allows thousands of posts to be imported into a website at once. This CSV file can be scheduled to re-import weekly from a URL that I provide so each website can be updated with fresh content and new file links automatically. Written instructions and video tutorials can be made to help guide people through this setup.

When used intelligently, these resources allow anyone to easily create their own organized and fully-functional digital download site for 10,000+ files in less than a day. This is exactly what we aim to do in the next step.

Step 2: Site Owners Build and Monetize their Own Websites

With all the rad stuff I've given them, site owners will be able to build their own digital downloads sites with their own hosting, their own domain, and their own branding that mostly updates on auto-pilot. They don't have to worry about creating posts or managing files and links. Data imported from CSV updates can do that. They just need to drive traffic to their site and make money from that that traffic.

So, how do website owners make money by sending people to download my files??

I could definitely use some advice from BHW members for ideas about this, but these are the options I've come up with so far:

• Running their own display and native ads
• Adding their own affiliate offers to their sites
• Converting their entire website to a paid membership site so visitors have to pay for a subscription to be able to receive their download links
• Just using the site to gather visitor emails for later marketing efforts
• Straight-up just asking for a donation via a buy-me-a-coffee type of platform. These actually do surprisingly well if you don't have a ton of ads elsewhere on the site.

And, what I consider to be the best option...

• Getting visitors to complete CPA offers by content-locking the external links to my downloadable files.

Content-locking download links with CPA offers is the method I've been using on my own download websites and it works very well. It's more profitable than PPD payments from the filehost, too. Basically, the visitor "unlocks" a download link by clicking a button on a post which triggers the locker. After completing the CPA offer, the external link to their file is displayed which they can follow offsite to download their stuff.

By using the file download URL as a custom field associated with that post, it's easy to lock automatically lock hundreds of links as posts are being imported from the CSV file. I've been doing this on my own website with bit of custom code and using CPAgrip offers, but I'm sure it works with any other CPA network, too.

If anybody has thoughts about how this system can be improved or ideas for any other money-making options that could be used by site owners, I'd really appreciate your feedback and advice. Or, if you see any major flaws in this plan so far, I'd love to know about that, too.

As for methods for website owners to drive visitors to their sites, the usual options of paid traffic arbitrage, social media posts, and good ol'-fashioned SEO are the obvious choices. It's really up to the individual site owners on how they want to do this.

Step 3: Send Visitors to My Bridge Page

This is the part of the process where I (as the file owner) start to make money. After the website visitor has hopefully generated some profits for the site owner by CPA or other methods, they will click the external link for their files and will be sent to my intermediary 'bridge' page.

The purpose of this page is to act as a gateway between the various websites linking to my files and my actual PPD file host.

If you've ever downloaded something from a website in the late-'00s, you've probably run into a page like this. They often have a "generating link in xx seconds" countdown timer or something similar. I think the technical term is 'Interstitial' page. They often display additional ads and probably have a tracking pixel installed for future marketing efforts.

I haven't really figured out what to put on this page to monetize it, so I'm definitely open to suggestions.

I think the trick is to not be too greedy here. By the time a visitor reaches this page, they've probably had to go through the site owner's content locker or jump through some other hoops, so we don't want to make them lose interest by bombarding them with too many additional ads or spammy redirects.

Anyway, for monetization on this page the ideas I've had so far include:

• Basic display and banner ads
• My own affiliate offers
• My own content locker and CPA offer. The twist here is that I could offer the visitor the option to download the file at regular speed with no additional steps, or at high speed instant download by completing my CPA offer. Not sure if I'm pushing my luck here though.
• Pop-ups/pop-unders
• Advertise a premium subscription to whatever filehost (rapidgator, nitroflare, etc.) I'll be linking to, which I get paid a commission from.

I could definitely use some input on other ways to monetize this page without ruining user experience though. Any advice BHWers can offer on this one would be greatly appreciated.

Also, on the technical side, visitors are being sent from various websites and then getting linked to their final file by simply attaching the file ID or filename as a URL parameter to be associated with the download link to be displayed on this bridge page. For example:

www.mybridgepagedomain.com/file?download_link=file_id

This is the URL that will be included in the CSV file that the site owners will be linking to and placing behind their own content lockers if they choose to do so. If anyone has a suggestion for a smarter way to do this, I'm definitely interested.

Step 4: Give the Visitor their File

Finally, after going through the site owner's page and my bridge page, the visitor is directed to the filehost's page where they can download the file they wanted. They can, of course, repeat this process for any other additional files they want from the owner's website.

And there it is...a streamlined, symbiotic system in which:

• Webmasters can create a monetized digital downloads site without needing to organize or manage any files.
• File owners can cast a much wider net and profit from their content without needing to worry about driving their own traffic.

Anyway, that's my plan so far and what I'm hoping to build. If you host files (movies, books, software, etc.) with some type of PPD service, you can absolutely copy and improve this method yourself.

Whether you think this plan is wonderful or doomed, either way I'd be really grateful for some feedback and input from this community.

Congratulations on creating your own idea and I hope you have a successful journey. I have zero experience with PPD or content lockers and I am replying because I also have my own private idea about acting as "intermediary" bridge.

In your idea you are trying to be at the end of the funnel,after visitor completes CPA unlock and in my idea I want to be in the beginning of the funnel. Our ideas re about different products / services but the idea is the same that we want others to do all the marketing work and us taking a slice of the action. In my idea the funnel is different - all participating affiliates send traffic to my "intermediary" bridge which acts as landing page that sends 80% of traffic to affiliate CPA offer and 20% to my CPA offer. I am just using CPA offer terms to put it in same perspective as your idea.

Your idea is about giving website content to experienced webmasters and taking tiny slice at end of funnel while my idea is about providing anyone without any experience ability to do some marketing while my "landing page" takes care of all technical things for people who have no direct website experience. You have a very limited number of webmasters that would want to open and operate Wordpress downloads website, perhaps you should use your idea for a more broad topic that appeals to general public. In my idea what is being promoted is appealing to large audience and it can be marketed by anyone without any experience. It is something anyone can post on their social media to promote and their using my landing page due to lack of knowledge how to create their own, lack of knowledge of tracking, etc. Inshallah I have time next year to work on it.

Can you tell how much are you making with this method per day? let me guess $15/day :?

$15 a day for a site I've done virtually FA to drive traffic to would be excellent.

Most of the profits I've made so far off this scheme has been from just selling clones my site and doing bulk file transfers of my collection to other people's filehosting accounts.

For this part, my plan would be to have a central website that allows anyone interested to sign in and download this stuff. Although, future CSV file imports can be synced automatically from a dedicated URL.

The niche I'm currently working with is audiobook downloads, but I think this can work for nearly any downloadable file collection. I've currently got about 12,000+ individual listings for audiobooks and their related descriptions, images, etc. All of this data is organized in the CSV file I'm using and can be imported into another website easily with the WP All Import and ACF Pro plugins (which I would also provide copies of).

There's a couple other plugins that really make this all work but I can't think of them at the moment. I'll check my site later and get back.

This all equates to around 4.5 TB of audiobook files on my PPD filehost. There's no way I can easily transfer that to a site owner without them buying premium account through my filehost, but the links to those files are also contained in the CSV file...which they can automatically place behind their own content lockers and drive traffic to for a profit.

I really think that CPA offers and locking the download links is the best way to monetize something like this. So, I guess this model would work best for people interested in creating incentivized CPA offers that they can drive traffic without needing to deal with thousands of files themselves. That's probably who I'll be marketing this to.

Making money with PPD is something very very old, I remember trying it around 2006, it was one of my first attempts to make money online

I think that nowadays this method is a little more difficult unless you have continuous and massive free traffic.

It also involves a lot of work to keep all files updated, whether they are games or programs.

Even so, your topic is very informative and can give ideas to new users so I think it can help some people to try something

But I honestly think there are ways that are easier and perhaps have a quicker return.

I'm definitely not releasing any guide Its my own idea and will remain my own. It needs custom development to become reality and some day I will have time and resources to do it. My input to your thread was to try to get in the front of the funnel and not be at the end. Use it as general advice and figure out a way to apply it to your own situation.
