[Method] Banking Over $4,000/month - Sneaky 7 Step Offline Method

Yes. I've managed to get over 60% of my clients to start hosting with me. This method is an excellent hook to poach someone else's clients and then build a long term relationship.

So the other 40% there is no monthly residual for SEO work? Just a one and done, unless you can up sale them other services?

You use the same article and PR for multiple clients, you are not worried about duplicate content?

I like the method, when I was reading before I even got done I was thinking "no harm no foul" and thats what you should call this method. Nice share.

I'm curious what your closing rate on the phone is?

Unfortunately, even though it is my STRENGTH I can NOT meet with prospects. So I'm thinking phone and/or Video chat via Skype.

You can also outrank them first before approaching them OMG style.

There's no way of accurately estimating the time it'll take to rank a website on the first page. That's why I tell them 60 days so that I have enough time.

I have been able to rank most of these sites (over 90%) within 4-5 weeks but it's better to keep some extra time. Mentioning a longer time frame also allows you to give the impression that a lot of work has to be done to rank a website. This in turn, increases the perceived value of your service quite a bit.

That's right. It's just a one off SEO job for some of these clients who don't sign up for something more. However, even these clients contribute towards the profit for that particular month - so no harm done!

I'm haven't worried about duplicate content so far because it isn't an issue. The article/PR is written in a manner that a majority of the content keeps referring to the business, their owner/proprietor and their address. Changing these parameters alone makes the PR/article fairly unique.

Moreover, contrary to popular belief, search engines don't penalize large, established sites for duplicate content as the percentage of duplicate content is quite small compared to unique content.

The closing rate varies depending on the type of business and how web savvy the business owner already is. However, I haven't yet had to speak with more than 15 prospects to land 5 clients for this particular deal - mainly because the deal is a no brainer for any sensible business owner.

You can also outrank them first before approaching them OMG style.

Maybe I didn't understand what you meant but wouldn't this create more work for me when I try to rank their site next?

I have a question that i am hoping somebody can help me with.

For the search term I am looking at the top 10 is dominated by directories with only 1 listing actually being the website of somebody promoting the service. I am looking at a barbers.

Local searches when looking at variations of the keyword total just under 5,000.

The directories listed are:
yell
192
thomsonlocal
groupon
directory independant
locallife
townpages
qype
and a few local directories.

Will this method work and push the local sites above the directories.
Also how can you also rank the sites higher up the google places results that appear first.
And one final thing, are there any known methods for pushing listings up the directories too as a way to further improve this method.

I missed another thing out....
When they ask; "Can I see some of your previous work" or "Do you have your own website". I'm guessing the simple answers are claim to have done this for other websites and hope they dont check (until you have proof) and create yourself a professional looking website to direct them too?

Thanks

1. The presence of these directories at the top of search results is usually an indication that no one has (or very few people have) optimized websites for the search term. If this is the case, you'll be able to rank an aged website quite easily.

2. As for Google Places, I've had mixed results and can't speak of a single method to rank there with certainty. Maybe some other forum members well versed with Google Places could help you with that?

3. Ranking your sites within directories would depend on how that particular directory works. Some might have a few ranking signals but most of them are largely paid sites where the more you pay, the higher you rank.

4. When someone asks me for a sample, I tell them that I can't share details of any other clients' websites as it would amount to a breach of contract and trust. Make sure to point out that they themselves wouldn't want their websites to be used in anyone's portfolio especially when it increases the chances of their competition catching on. Close this argument by stating that you anyways offer a money back guarantee so there's no risk in the deal at all.

Alternatively, you can quickly rank any site for a search term of your choice and use that as an example. Make sure to take a screen captured video of the search results in a way which captures the date of the search and the ranking of the site. You can uses this to create your own version of BEFORE & AFTER videos.

Hope this answers your questions.

that was an awesome read! thanks for the the details and your help.

I'm glad you found the post helpful :)

It's a great post. he method per se is not really 100% new, of course, but the explanation is awesome. Simple and concise, in very motivating words, I don't know how it could be explained any better. I am going to be surprised if I see too many questions about the method because everything is right there.

Thanks and Reputation added!

Definitely thumbs up!

Great method but I have a small question, I see some some other Page rank 1-3 websites on the front page for my specific niche. I did some research on them and find that they really only have about 15-20 back links each, can I still knock them off the top with a little more work, maybe 2-3 blasts from ScrapeBox?

It's hard to say with absolute certainty but if the domain you're trying to rank is old enough, this might be enough.

SPOT ON!! For someone afraid of jumping in and want to just do the selling, you've made the SEO part much less scary and daunting. Bookmarked for study.

Just joined here, although I've been doing affiliate IM for a while with mixed results.

I'm just now getting into local SEO and I like this method. However, I live in a smaller town, where local search volumes do not seem to warrant marketing to local business. So I'm wondering if an initial contact via email, followed up by a phone call would get results. I'm going to try it but I was just wondering anyone's opinion.

boomer,
Why haven't you sold them on a yearly maintenance contract? Charge them $50/mo or whatever a good number is, to keep their ranking up there. Explain the need for continued maintenance because Big G changes their algo all the freaking time and you have to do periodic work to their website to keep up with the changes or else their website will drop down in the serps.
