I have learned a lot from this thread, thx
Yes. I've managed to get over 60% of my clients to start hosting with me. This method is an excellent hook to poach someone else's clients and then build a long term relationship.
There's no way of accurately estimating the time it'll take to rank a website on the first page. That's why I tell them 60 days so that I have enough time.
I have been able to rank most of these sites (over 90%) within 4-5 weeks but it's better to keep some extra time. Mentioning a longer time frame also allows you to give the impression that a lot of work has to be done to rank a website. This in turn, increases the perceived value of your service quite a bit.
So the other 40% there is no monthly residual for SEO work? Just a one and done, unless you can up sale them other services?
You use the same article and PR for multiple clients, you are not worried about duplicate content?
I like the method, when I was reading before I even got done I was thinking "no harm no foul" and thats what you should call this method. Nice share.
I'm curious what your closing rate on the phone is?
Unfortunately, even though it is my STRENGTH I can NOT meet with prospects. So I'm thinking phone and/or Video chat via Skype.
You can also outrank them first before approaching them OMG style.
I have a question that i am hoping somebody can help me with.
For the search term I am looking at the top 10 is dominated by directories with only 1 listing actually being the website of somebody promoting the service. I am looking at a barbers.
Local searches when looking at variations of the keyword total just under 5,000.
The directories listed are:
yell
192
thomsonlocal
groupon
directory independant
locallife
townpages
qype
and a few local directories.
Will this method work and push the local sites above the directories.
Also how can you also rank the sites higher up the google places results that appear first.
And one final thing, are there any known methods for pushing listings up the directories too as a way to further improve this method.
I missed another thing out....
When they ask; "Can I see some of your previous work" or "Do you have your own website". I'm guessing the simple answers are claim to have done this for other websites and hope they dont check (until you have proof) and create yourself a professional looking website to direct them too?
Thanks
that was an awesome read! thanks for the the details and your help.
Great method but I have a small question, I see some some other Page rank 1-3 websites on the front page for my specific niche. I did some research on them and find that they really only have about 15-20 back links each, can I still knock them off the top with a little more work, maybe 2-3 blasts from ScrapeBox?
