Medium articles are no-index now ?

Yeah but how will you find those articles?

Simply scrape the article titles in the niche you are after, then check to see it it is indexed or not.
Scrapebox is a great tool for this.

Robots meta is noindex on one of my medium posts that has more than 3 links to the same site. I guess medium doesn't like more than 2 backlinks.

I am going to delete the post and repost under a different title and see what happens.

my old medium account indexed but my new 2021 account only index pinned article, idk what's going on

The heart of Medium’s mission is to deepen understanding, and we believe the best way to accomplish that mission is to be an open platform -- a place where anyone can have a voice, regardless of background, affiliation, or expertise.

To protect that mission, it is imperative that we have systems in place to support the success of creators who are here to share ideas and connect with readers, and discourage creators who are solely leveraging Medium for search engine optimization (in plainer words: spam and self-serving clickbait).

Medium limits content that is made available to third-party search engines, as well as Medium’s native search and topic pages. The overwhelming majority of content that Medium will no longer be allowing to be indexed is what most people would consider spam, and the net effect will be more traffic to quality content long-term.

This system, similar to Google’s Page Rank, is based on a number of internal signals that help us determine if your use of Medium is above board. It may take a little bit of time for you as a creator to become a trusted part of the Medium network and meet the threshold for being indexed, but if your stories meet our basic quality threshold, they will end up in external and native search indexes. We encourage you to continue publishing your best writing on Medium, engaging with other users by clapping, following, and responding, and becoming a part of the Medium community.

This will greatly benefit the SEO for Medium creators who are publishing stories that align with our mission. Medium will be sharing less of the content that we don’t want on Medium with Google, so Medium’s Google Page Rank will continuously improve as click-through rates from search queries increase, and this will result in legitimate Medium creators ranking higher across all Google searches. This will lead to even more discovery of the stories and ideas that you publish on Medium.

Hope that helps.

Summit these links upon google webmaster tools ,Get some tier 2 blog comments over them to get things going !

how do you check the index tag on your post? Do you use any extensions?

Yesterday I created a couple articles on Medium and after publishing them I noticed that they were showing as no-index, is this for all articles now on medium ? or is there some requirement I have to meet to turn them to indexable ? I have not used Medium in like more than a year so now sure on how all they have changed.
Same here buddy, I have also published article on medium and the article has no index tag. Is there any way to remove that no index tag?

Confirmed no-index for Medium. You can verify it very easy, just check for source "noindex".
Want to share also other picture - we have account which is empty now (we removed outdated articles). It is already crawled by Google and in Google search as url. Meanwhile it is also no-index now.
To tell the truth - it is pity. I thought to use Medium as main blog, like the interface and all. But I don't want to write for nothing. I read post up that Medium will check the activities but it is better to understand - what should be done.
For sure I can confirm - time of acc registry doesn't matter. Probably usability and articles will. But I don't want post 20 unique articles with impossibility to understand will it be indexed or not.

Is there a limit like make a certain amount of articles and they index?

I had some trouble getting Medium links to register properly, as well. Glad to see I'm not the only one, but not happy about the circumstance.

New information from me and I hope is good. I'm from Italy.
1. New acc registered just less than month ago - one article published, no "noindex' tag in source today
2. Old acc (2017 or something like this) - was with "noindex". Now one article published, no "noindex' tag in source today.
If I will see something more I will return to inform in this thread. Mainly I'm happy because I liked Medium interface and want it as a blog so quite good that it is no necessity to replace it with something.

Medium is no longer helpful for building links. They are not allowing any links to another website due to controlling spam on their platform.
  • AI written content
  • Thin Content
  • Content with too many links to other or the same website

This type of content is not allowed on Medium.

You need to upgrade to a premium plan to get your article indexed quickly.
