Yesterday I created a couple articles on Medium and after publishing them I noticed that they were showing as no-index, is this for all articles now on medium ? or is there some requirement I have to meet to turn them to indexable ? I have not used Medium in like more than a year so now sure on how all they have changed.

Is it was unique content ? Did you give notice about rules or something else ? Because i did some articles ~2 months ago, and all was fine.
But also, i gave a notice about bad quality content something, and then my articles didn't indexed too. Mb now its a little bit harder.

Noticed something similar, have been writing articles that immediately show up on the 2nd page of the SERPs - as of yesterday not seeing them. Anyone else?

I was going to start submitting an article or two to Medium linking back to my blog but I may wait to see what others say about this method after hearing this.
I could use the articles elsewhere if Medium isn't as effective anymore for linking back.

Well I'm looking at the source of these articles I just created and it shows noindex. And my Chrome extensions for this are reading noindex.

Sounds like you used scraped/spammed content, therefore you don't show up in the SERPs.
Doubt Medium would start adding noindex tags, it would legit just be stupid, wouldn't bring them anything.

I think they've applied a restriction to your account or making all new account no-index for a few days to stop spam.

I created a new account a few weeks ago. Today I posted a 500+ word handwritten article and noticed the no-index tag on the source code.
Maybe they've changed something to prevent spam.

BTW, how are you able to view source to see the noindex tag? When I try to view source I get this:

I know old pages that were obviously previously indexable would not change. So old pages are still going to show as indexable the question is do new accounts pages have the no index tag now ? It seems to be the case for these last couple days at least. I know there have got to be a ton of medium users on this forum so thought someone would of talked about this by now. I have seen parasites in the past that became hot and got spammed to death abruptly change new post articles/pages to no-index and such when they had enough, or put some requirement to make then remove the tag to help prevent. If this is the case with medium that sucks for me because I have not basically touched them over these last few years. I'm hoping they are just doing a temporary thing for new account posts or whatever.

I noticed that one of my articles that has the no index tag is indexed in Google, but it's ranking for the time being tanked.
