Medium articles are no-index now ?

I can't figure it out. It just seems random in my tests, one account I create the pages I create on it are indexable. Then the very next account has pages with no-index tag. It seems kind of random from what I have tested so far. Anyone else noticing something similar ?

I'm facing significant issue since medium is my main traffic source.

new TOS:
Medium is currently in the process of slowly rolling out a change that limits what Medium content is made available to third-party search engines, as well as Medium’s native search and tag pages. The overwhelming majority of content that Medium will no longer be allowing to be indexed is what most people would consider spam, and the net effect will be more traffic to quality content long-term.

This new system, similar to Google’s Page Rank, is based on a number of internal signals that help us determine if your use of Medium is above board. As the new system is being rolled out, it may take a little bit of time for you as a creator to become a trusted part of the Medium network and meet the threshold for being indexed, but if your stories meet our basic quality threshold, they will end up in external and native search indexes. We encourage you to continue publishing your best writing on Medium, engaging with other users by clapping, following, and responding, and becoming a part of the Medium community.

Medium site may index lot of low quality pages. So, Google will not crawl and index too. Medium has no crawling and indexing strategy. It may also have poor internal linking, Strange sitemap, low relevance and indexable URL. It also affect medium site.

I believe that all premium articles will be indexed.

Hy,
It’s happening something with medium. In begining of February i put some articles on medium, different accounts. Some of them was indexed, good rank. After a few weeks (4-6 weeks, all of indexed articles was un-indexed :(

Is there anyone that have managed to get the noindex removed?

Maybe thay have new algo, checking if new blogs have quality, if it is duplicated/low quality then no-index tag will be imposed

I have checked my old articles, there are still active. Try to concentrate more on articles.

yes, from new accounts now they are giving no follow links, whenever i post something from my old account it' give do follow backlink.

seems like medium accounts needs to be warmed up now,
a little more of work but can get around this

Make sure that the article is really live. When you're logged into your account, it all looks normal, but see if you can view the article when not logged in to verify it's really live.

I have two medium accounts, one is around 3 yrs old with more then 100 articles (some of them are very popular), it is all good and “index”, but my other account (around 1yr old) with only 3 posts on the account (one post is very popular) is noindex now, it happened yesterday :weep:

Any updates on how to overcome this new ‘noindex’ update?

I also noticed that. Most probably it's for the Free Users.

I just checked the old posts that I did there and they are indexed but indeed they have the no-index tag. Probably this is new and they're doing it to keep in control of the outbound links like many of the free platforms did.

Yes they are adding noindex in many posts.

Still no clear info on how it works but here is something about it - https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/217991468-About-SEO-and-Medium
