Manage 10+ sites

Hi,

I hope that I open this thread at the right place within the forum...

I think many times that managing many sites takes a lot of effort. It is ok that you can simply upgrade wordpress or plugins remotely, but you can not be sure that the site is not broken after that. You might see that the visitor stats are good, but it can happen that the site is visually broken so you can lose money. It can be even harder with more sites. What is the best practice for this?

I know exactly what you mean but tbh, I don't think there's much you can do other than quickly do a visual check of the websites. I have a couple of sites that I manage trough MainWP but I always, ALWAYS visually check them after updating. Especially sites that use Elementor or a caching plugin have a tendency to break very easily after updating. Often times I have to go in the website and reload the cache or save a page in Elementor to get it displaying properly again. Yeah it sucks but at least the mass updating saves some time..

The best thing you can do is limit the number of plugins that you use. As well as use a custom theme instead of buying one. I would recommend only upgrading after a week. THis gives the plugin and theme time to update as well then you can do them all at one time.

Hire cheap admin from a website like freelancer if you are really making good profits so you can concentrate on new projects.
