So I'm playing an online game, right? Then some guy asks, "So what do you do for a living?" and I'm like "... I get paid to do surveys." He replies, "that's not a real job, though..not a respectable one." and I say, "but I still make money by marketing." and he's like "So basically you are a leech on society?"

Wtf, lol. I don't know why but that kind of triggered me. I know I shouldn't be that way, but wow. Anyone else ever have these types of situations? Now i'm not even sure if he was being serious, but it's still kind of annoying.

I always hated being part of the near poverty lower class and their mentality. Often times it felt like a crab bucket and whenever one tries to crawl out the others grab unto them and pull. They would always blame the rich for everything, but oftentimes wouldn't do a thing about their shit situation.

If a "Stable" and 9-5 job is respectable then I guess i'm a failure in their eyes, which is ironic considering that they wish they were better off.

Surveys help large companies make decisions. When large companies make good decisions it helps drive the economy. Surveys are important. What does a cashier do for society? The fact that they're getting replaced by machines should answer that question.

I prefer to say I work on the internet.

And when they ask what I do, I tell them I write scripts for soft core porn. Stuff like cinemax.

I'd like to wonder what happens to adults when as kids they don't learn is a scam or not. CPA helps teach them before they actually start paying and getting scammed. If cpa sites came out yesterday I'd still be redoing it wondering where my free xbox was.

I've found that a lot of the people who give me flak about what I do end up asking way too many questions about it. They actually think that this whole thing is easy and that anyone could do it for an extra buck. No one really gets that this "mysterious internet job" is an actual commitment. But I don't usually let that bother me. As everyone else says, just do you. Everything else will fall into place.

i quit caring about random opinions after i realized i couldn't pay my bills with them...

I play video games for two reasons. One, to work while I play and two because I make videos while playing games, which could potentially bring in a lot of money (more than I make at least).

You know, the older I get the less patience I seem to have with the world. I was raised in a very religious family, so I developed this "turn the other cheek" mentality. I'm a very stubborn and rebellious person so it gave me lots of cognitive dissonance. On one hand you want to punch the other person in the face, on the other hand you must be a pacifist. Lost a lot of nerves over the years. I'm slowly learning not to get pushed around, but it's a pain after all the indoctrination.

Believe me, usually stuff like this doesn't affect me, but this time it did. I can see why. Due to my upbringing I always felt inadequate, especially in front of my father, who was an inventor and pretty much could do anything. I, on the other hand didn't understand anything he did or how he was able to do it. I even started reading books about all that stuff and still didn't get it. It's not easy walking in someone's shadow, especially those you care about and respect. The tough skin thing is still being developed. As a child, I would escape into the virtual world instead of building up inner defenses, but then later in life it started to bite me in the ass.

I stopped doing that Clickbank journey. It was pretty dumb for me to go after the health and fitness niche, lol. After that I started focusing on crowdsourcing and video editing. I kind of enjoy the latter.

Ironically, he called you a leecher for working in the private sector. You earn your own money by your own surveys no matter how 'simple' that is or whatever the fuck. I had a friend like that who called me a leech for working a simple job part-time for pocket change, while I was contributing to a private business, even if I cleaned the floor and prepared coffee and bought groceries. The guy was working in a government institution. Working 2 hours in an 8 hour work day. Chit chatting for 6 hours and looking at memes and tinder. PAID by the TAXPAYERS. Completely ignoring his duties and responsibilities to the community that pays him the wage he lives on. That's a true leech if I ever saw one.
