Majestic Trust Flow Update

All you guys say that google doesnt care lol we understand that, but we use those metrics so we can filter certain domains better. Its a tool that helps regarding certain tasks in the SEO business yet some people are always really smart as they keep talking shit about tools that helps us.

The average drop was about 3 points, so TF10 is now TF7. The difference is less apparent above TF17 - 18. Not too much difference there from what I am seeing.

Oh dont worry I don't care about CF atall :p I do care about the TF/CF ratio though and this update has made all of my 1:1 sites now 2-8:1.
Usually I wouldn't take a domain with those kinda metrics (e.g 10TF, 30CF). Keep me posted on what they say, couldn't find any official post from Majestic.

Also I use the Domain level metrics, not http. And the average drop has been 10 - 20.

They haven't said shit. :)

And ignore that ratio too. When you have domain with 30RD, you can easily check every backlink and see if it's spammy or not. I can't remember the last time I even looked on that metric. What's the point, if I know that backlinks are good and domain is clean? None really. :) It's similar to the "spam score" metric. That's pointless too.

I am scraping domains using a couple of different tools and the TF and CF are crazy. It's coming back with nearly every domain over 50. That's using scrapebox and domain ronin.

Strange people have started giving undue importance to majestic TF when the crawler hardly has access to every domain around. Good for majestic and similar crawlers, gives them business.

Same here, was checking my accounts and suddenly discovered that the metrics either dropped or increased.

Another interesting thing.

It's been over 12 hours now, since I updated the metrics on all my domains (2K+ approximately). I updated the Trust Flow again today and not a single domain had a TF change. Not a single one out of 2K domains. Normally after 12 hours, it's always at least a few dozen. But today... nothing.

Yeah, they did more:

Something I'm noticing is that quite a lot of backlinks are showing as deleted due to domain name resolution failure or connect failure.

Who gives a fuck .... my 50 cent ;)

Oh fuck that lol. Not that I am using it, but they apparently fucked up something bad.

I actually noticed this failure too, plus majestic being pretty slow overall. I often enter the domain and it says there is error, and I have to wait for around a minute to continue. This has been happening like 5 times per hour or more. Guys screwed up something apparently. Maybe that TF shift can be related to that connect failure? Hmm... going to check lost links on the domains in the past few days, but I doubt it was caused by this.

Hmm... I barely have any lost links on the domains I just checked, definitely not in the few past days, so not related to that imo. I keep spamming the support and god, they aren't telling me shit. :) It's like talking to retards. Here is the full conversation with that amazing support:

Hello,

was there some update regarding the Trust Flow and its determination? I sell expired domains based on the Trust Flow metrics and I've seen a huge drop in the Trust Flow of the domains that I have currently in stock.

Out of 700 domains I had in the range of TF10 - 14, only 350 haven't dropped metrics. I would like to add, that the last time I updated the metrics was not even 24 hours ago.

Same goes for my domains with TF15+, out of 70 I had, I have only around 25 now.

I am using "http://www.domain.com/" version to determine the TF of the domain.

Was there some update regarding this?

Thank you,

Max

Hello,
Thank you for your interest, our algorithms have not changed in the last few years.
Please check the topics tabs, lost links tabs and the status of referring pages with respect to our crawler being able to visit them (enter the URL into site explorer it will tell you the last date and result of the last crawl) also ensure that your own site is able to be crawled to ensure that flow metrics are passed around your own site efficiently and give the most benefit.

Kind Regards
Chris

Are you absolutely sure that nothing is going on?

I asked few other people who see the same drop.

In the attachment below, you can see what I am talking about. It's just some of the websites that I currently follow nad have in stock. On the left is the metric update which I did this morning, cca 8 hours ago. On the right are updated metrics from 30 minutes ago. I've never seen this huge mass drop in metrics since I've been using Majestic and that's been for around a year.

Our algorithms have notchanged in the last few years. But links change on the internet, we crawl the internet and update metrics based on this changing picture of interlinking sites.
Please check the topics tabs, lost links tabs and the status of referring pageswith respect to our crawler being able to visit them (enter the URL into siteexplorer it will tell you the last date and result of the last crawl) alsoensure that your own site is able to be crawled to ensure that flow metrics arepassed around your own site efficiently and give the most benefit.

Oh come on. I've seen an average drop of 2 - 3 points on around 3000 URLs in the past few hours. You really want to tell me that you haven't changed a single thing? Haven't devalued some links or anything?

It's not about crawlers, your algorithm calculation became different somehow. It would be nice to know how, since my business depends on it. It would be only fair.

Thank you,

Max

I can tell you with 100% confidence that the algorithm has not changed. The link chain to your site has changed so your scores have changed.

No to mention, since I last updated the metrics over 12 hours ago. Not a single domain out of 2000 that I am checking had a change in trust flow. Not a single one. Normally, after such time, it's always at least a few dozen.

We are talking about 2000+ websites and 2 dozens other people that I know of, who's metrics has dropped too. That would have been some brutal link chain change, considering the metric shift has changed in a matter of hours. :)

Use the Topics tab and the lost backlinks tab to find out what has changed on your domain.
Also ensure that you are using our site, or authorised applications which connect to our service. Budget scrapers, toolbars and data offerings can give very unreliable results

Yep 3 points drop exactly... glad to see its not just me.

Yeah.. not every link.. but when you build links yourself from decent sites then Majestic usually pics them all up, they don't find blocked sites or some super shitty ones maybe.

Yep, my Chrome toolbar just stopped working yesterday. I installed toolbar for Firefox, it still works, but shows random numbers. Every time I check metrics it shows different values for the same site in absolutely random manner. Today Chrome toolbar started to show me this "We're sorry" message. Hope they fix problem soon, cos I use CF/TF to check link power and looks like it helps me to buy better links.

Oh fuck that lol. Not that I am using it, but they apparently fucked up something bad.

How rude of you :p

I'm still using that. When I has picking domains and whatnot I had the subscription, now I canceled it and this was how I check my domains from time to time and now we can't. Hopefully they will bring it back, it was useful for a quick, single domain checkup.

In the footer, probably not new just as an fyi:

Majestic data is messed up big time. The biggest drop i suffered was TF35 from TF41. It was just a few days/weeks ago that all sites TF surged to considerably high values.
Damn, i was just planning a holiday.
