hi
I'm making content for some niche groups that have between 10k and 200k people. The content is very useful for them yet it's not drama or something that will naturally generate a lot of traffic - though it's functional info that people need. And this is the exact reason why I need to artificially launch the snowball in order to make sure a lot of ppl see it
I've got between 2 and 4 fake accounts on these groups which I use to like/react (though I don't always comment. mistake?). As soon as I post, I
1. go in an incognito page on the same computer - 1st account
2. on my phone, mobile data this time, incognito
3. on my phone, wifi, incognito
4. a random one from above
Still, it's not enough to generate the snowball. So FB fucks me in the ass somehow and I can't see the way the algorithm works. Other things I'm doing (mistakes on any of them?):
1. Use different photos OR same photo slightly altered so that the EXIF data is different and (hopefully) facebook believes it's a new photo (i.e not copied content)
2. I don't copy paste the text that I prewrite in my notes - instead, I write it manually for FB to think that it's been written of the top of my head, like a natural post ( I keep a tab on the side and try to mimic the natural way of composing the text)
3. Slightly alter the text if I'm doing the same post on several groups
4. Sometimes I do this: same post (but written manually again) on two (or a few) groups, along with the same photos, in a short span of time - I'm thinking there wouldn't be a problem for FB to use the exact same photo as it's considered original in the first place, so I can't see why they would penalize using MY content several times
The reason I'm sure that the content is good is that sometimes it takes off by itself (and when it does, it goes big time. Like 100-300 likes in 10-30 minutes). But the same content on another group is clearly delivered to fewer people. People add me to thank personally, they tag their friends or they praise the post and the content.
I've got my own group as well where I first post this information I'm curate (mistake?). The reason I mention this and explain in detail all the things above is that some of you may get a summary of what I've learned OR so that you can tell me if you spot any mistakes.
What's the puzzle piece that I'm missing? Why am I missing engagement and delivery when I sometimes naturally reach them?
