Learning about CPA

I'm new to this forum. I appreciate the knowledge people have here, so just thinking to start with IM, I thought to try CPA first.
I'm seeking for some knowledge and guidance you guys can provide me.

I'll just say that if you want to start with instagram and have no money or very little money to invest, then don't.
Wait until you have earned or saved a decent amount of cash.
It was a hell for me until I figured it out, even with investing about $200 into it.

Youtube+cpa is a good low cost alternative or I have seen some really good twitter+cpa methods here, although I have never tried twitter before.

Can I get some more knowledge?
 
I would suggest you to learn something useful such as web design (HTML5, CSS3, JS, Dreamweaver IDE) and basic SEO techniques. Than find a niche using Google Trends and use your new skills to develop a website for that niche. You could promote products to sell with affiliate marketing or use Clickbank as a CPC network.

Should I be looking at the age demographic as a factor? My gut tells me the younger the audience the more offers get completed but I might be totally off here. Any thoughts?

Completely depends on the niche. Would a 12 year old you want some weight loss products or signing up for myfreecams? Don't think so.
Would a 12 year old you want some free followers or CrAzY ForTnIte HaX? Totally.
 
I haven't even thought about locking weight loss products... what would that look like?

What do you mean by knowledge ? What are you trying to achieve anyway ? Just read some thread with some method and start applying that and you will get knowledge on the fly;) Really you should just stop asking and start implementing what you already know cause it will be infinite.
