Keword volume - Trust ahrefs or semrush

What's your guys experience on this? I sometimes find a pretty big discrepancy between this tools.

For example, ahrefs says 20k and semrush 200 monthly searches. My feelings tell me that semrush is more into keywords and ahrefs into backlinks so I should trust semrush.

I have seen something like that with some other provider (free). After that i checked on google keyword planner. I used that one closer with google keyword planner. I am not sure if it was the right way.

Twin Word have an interesting article on where different tools get their data from. The most accurate tool, one could argue, would be one that gets its search volume directly from Google, such as Twin Word Ideas.

The reason I started to use other tools was because keyword planer to often made no sense at all.

And because I'm using these 2 tools I hoped some people have field experience on this.

I seem to always find more backlinks with Ahrefs, so I trust it more. That's just my opionion

I've used ppc cost/volume data from SEMrush for years, and found it to be fairly accurate.
They use a combination of real data and sampling for their numbers.

Backlinks ahref the best, semrush keyword, but I cross the data with keywords everywhere i loved this freetool
