Zineb Ait Bahajji, a member of Google's Webmaster Trends team,
was quoted at SMX Munich as saying that the new mobile-friendly
algorithm change will have more of an impact on search rankings
than either Panda or Penguin, two of the largest and most impactful
search algorithm updates Google has ever launched.

'Mobile Ready'!

It is important to Google that sites are mobile friendly,
and it will affect your rankings starting April 21st, 2015.

If your sites are NOT mobile-friendly, they will begin
to drop out of mobile searches -- 60% of all searches
are mobile searches...

easy translation: you will start seeing your $$$ drop by
as much as 60% or more starting April 21, 2015!

If you have control over sites that provide link juice (say to other sites that link to your money site) -- making them mobile-friendly by April 21 will allow them to keep their position in the serps. As sites drop off because of being non-mobile compliant, your sites could actually climb in ranking and also provide more link juice if you make them mobile compliant.

Good stuff to keep in mind. We should really be optimizing for mobile anyway these days. How much of our audience is mobile? Mine tipped the scales sometime over the past 2 years.

I do find it funny that Google's most popular/recommended adsense blocks on mobile friendly pages are breaking the screen size "viewport" rules according to Pagespeed Insights.

Typical Google, not practicing what it preaches.

What's really bad is Google's own 'Mobile Ready' checker doesn't work on a lot of sites! It just stops right in the middle of checking with no errors. And Google's MR definition is way different than W3's.

Still Google writes the rules and the whole world suffers the consequences.

How do you find out about these google "slaps"? I've been looking into ranking sites to further my list building, but I'm afraid of these new Google slaps LOL

Does this mean my PBN sites will get hit? if they are not mobile friendly?

If your PBN sites are inaccessible (or not pretty) with mobile devices, what do you think is going to happen? Your sites will start dropping first in the mobile searches, and I'm sure this will affect your regular rankings eventually. Mobile is now a bigger user base than pc/mac/linux et al. Google is all about (at least they say they are) user experience. What do you suppose is going to happen in the near future? Less PBN ranking -> less link juice -> less money.

Unless your income is augmented and SEO is finally replaced, you will always be under the Google hammer. There are plenty more traffic sources than SEO that should perhaps be given a little more thought now that Mobilegeddon is headed our way.

It's not reality that matters, but what Google thinks... take this ruling by the Supreme Court for instance: Tomato, Fruit or Vegetable

Reality doesn't matter, and after a while nobody really cares.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is really a fruit,
and wisdom is not putting it into a fruit salad.

Thanks! Last questions, I am finding who knows how to make my site mobile friendly since it is on html (just single page sites), honestly I am very noob on codes or what to do to make it mobile friendly. In converting my html site, will this affect my SEO ranking for now?

I checked my PBN sites on the google mobile checker, it didn't pass.
But when I checked it using my phone it is fairly designed. Would it still help?

Though I will make sure all of my sites will be mobile friendly before April 21.

Unfortunately, G's review team isn't allowed to do a lot of thinking. This is definitely an area that is pretty well set. If it doesn't pass the 'Mobile Ready' checker there will be a place on a reviewer's card to mark it -- Pass yes/no. It's a lot better to have your site reviewed manually, but with a new roll-out Google won't have time to check everything manually.

So, either it passes G's MR checker, or it doesn't. How your site ranks on Google Mobile will be affected first. If your sites are not MR they will drop as other sites that are MR rank higher. Many sites won't even appear on Google's Mobile search.

There are a lot of things that come into effect for ranking in the SERPS. These are the most affected, imo... once your site does pass MR -- how many mobile visitors, and how long did they stay on each page.

Be very careful when updating your PBN. As with everything a PBN is supposed to be, it has to remain 'natural'. This means that if 100% of your PBN sites updates are turned on, it will leave a footprint. If they all are updated with the same code -- footprint! If they all become MR by 21 April -- footprint! Do what you feel is natural.

In the end, you may find yourself looking for an added traffic source while the bumps iron out enough so you can regain your bearings. Unfortunately, it's a learning process for all of us, and nobody has all of the answers, even Google. An algorithm is supposed to have a set result, but even they give adverse end results simply because the obvious is overlooked.

For anyone that does a bit of web design, this could be a great way to make a bit of extra money to help those that don't have a mobile ready site.

I was waiting for this Update, all my sites are responsive to both Desktop/Mobiles..
Let me see, if they are gonna make some miracles or shatter my Dreamz
