Just got a speeding ticket!

My Mrs just got a speeding ticket in the post, for an offence down in Devon in the UK.

She had a hire car, but the agency messed up and gave her the wrong car, so the ticket was for the car she wasn't driving.
At the time she was in university giving a lecture to a group of students....

Seems the car rental people messed up a little here by giving the police her details instead of the actual driver or person who did the hire .

Sue them for revealing personal details.

No shit dude. Bright-colored cars are cop magnets, custom license plates are cop magnets, sports cars are cop magnets. You have the holy trinity of all three. Get a white SUV if you don't want to attract attention

I would also add - tinted windows, which I don't have.
I feel like I have to drive with a lawyer to talk with police and a bodyguard to talk with everyone else...or just a doctor.... .

its an old lambo

Why do you feel the need to race bait? Did you ever think that your friend got pulled over because he was doing something illegal? I've gotten pulled over plenty of times, and I'm white. The cops will pull over anyone if they're doing something illegal. It has nothing to do with race.

You have never been pulled over for no reason - therefore, no one else ever has either, and everyone who has ever been pulled over has been doing something illegal

This isn't the 60's anymore, gramps. I'm tired of people pulling out the "muh racism" card. People love pulling the race card, and it's getting old and pathetic. Ever stop to think that they got pulled over because they did something illegal? People need to own up to their mistakes, and stop blaming "racists cops".

Edit: And, yeah, I have been pulled over for no reason. It was late at night and the officer said that I went over the middle line, but I didn't. But, I didn't argue with him. I just told him that it won't happen again. And, he let me off with a warning.

Not sure about your country but when I drive 190 km/h at our 130km/h highway I pay alot of attention 1) Radars 2) Cars . How can you not notice a cop car when you drive fast?

In your country the police needs to proof that you were driving the speed. They can only do that by "following" you. Simply pay more attention to your surroundings.

Lol i got pulled over a few years ago for trailer lights being out. The cop was going opposite direction and busted a u turn to get me. Then he searched my truck cause he said i looked high. After he found nothing (i dont smoke drink or do drugs) the 2 cops left fast, lol?

This is not true, most times when a poor person will end up in jail the rich will escape it because he's got money to pay bribe or whatever.
The bribe? This is the United States of America, not the United States of Afghanistan.
That being said - the law does favour you a little if you have money - for example paying bail.

i thought they couldn't pull you over if you were going with the general flow of traffic?

Well, I can say there's a HUGE difference betweens cops in Russia, London and New York.
In Russia you do whatever you want, just have enough cash with you, if you have special number plates which you can also buy, you won't be even stopped.
In London - there's cameras, you won't bribe it, but the speed limit is actually much higher than in US. You don't really see traffic police. Everyone is seems to be very kind on the road and drives extremely good, thats what it looks like to me, at least.
In New York - all speed limits are low, everyone drives faster than a limit and driving is aggressive, cops look like gangsters themselves.

Did he have a dog? Did you let him search you or the car? Thats illegal at least in US.

Is it lonely up there on your pedestal?

So you HAVE been pulled over for no reason! You said before that cops will pull you over ONLY if you are doing something illegal, which is absurd. I have no opinion on the "race card" because all I have is anecdotal evidence, like you. You managed to contradict yourself in your post and your edit - "people need to start owning up to their mistakes", then "I have been pulled over for no reason". Again, I do not particularly care about the guy driving around in Utah, I just wanted to point out the absurdity of your statements. Take a step back.
