Journey to make $100/day from IOS & Android apps

Do you use any third party to create the apps or they're made using flutter/Android Studio?
We use native Kotlin + android studio combo, no 3rd parties involved.

Update on how my yesterday went, to give an idea on the process of uploading an app to app store:

So a few days ago my developer completed my newest app, and yesterday I prepared the app to be app store ready, by doing the following:
1. Took localized screenshots for 6 different languages(each language has 5.5 inch screenshots, and 6.5 screenshots, yes it's apple store)
2. Wrote localized descriptions, titles, and keywords in 9 different languages.
3. Create a preview video(using davinci resolve) on how to use the app, and then uploaded a shorter format on YouTube as well.

The above activities sound easy on paper but they are really boring and time-consuming.
If you hire developers, let them know that you will take care of those boring activities and they just need to write code, that makes it very attractive for developers because devs get bored pretty quick.

Also offered support for a few customers who ended up being happy and 2 of them left 5-star reviews.

As for the revenue, currently on Android we're sitting on $1,774 and $326 on Apple (but Apple payout is not monthly and they will send only $37 on Aug 3rd)
I know the amount from tracking the in-purchase, but Apple is close-minded when it comes to financial areas.

For most of my adult life I have been working as a web developer for other people, I am so used to making money hourly or per project, it feels different when you wake up and you see that you already made money without knowing anything about it, passive-income hits different man!.

right now I'm profiting on average ~$61/day, the growth from last month is more than double, so I will let things as is for now, and I am venturing into my SAAS business which I previously was working on but delayed it in favor of making apps, now that I have a decent income I will be focusing more on my SAAS which is in the HR niche, I have a partner who is working with me on this, he is way older than me and he connections so I will give him a stake in the business and I take care of the development and he will be our front representative, I know that SAAS business is a boring and not quick success but if I worked on it full-time for 1 year and got it to let's say $10k/month which is a pretty reasonable goal, I can easily sell that business for $360K (3x ARR).

This thread will be for revenue updates in the next 2-3 months, if I reached the goal of $100/day then I might hire a VA to take care of customer support though it's hard to find a VA that learns quickly and works a minimum wage, and if I failed to reach the goal then I will be pumping new apps and see how it goes.

That's it for today.

Thank you.

Good luck.
You may count as your VA in case you're looking for one and I'm still free

It's worth noting that my apps are earning through in-app purchases, and none of my apps contain ads.
so far I made $500+ with around 7k installs for both apps, pretty good and it's impossible to generate that through adMob or whatever.
Does that mean that on average your app price is $0,07?
$500 / 7.000 = $0,07

Sorry if these questions is already asked in thread

how are you promoting the apps and what is abandoned rate of your app ?

Like how many % and after how much time a mostly user abended the app

Hello everybody, I am a long-time lurker around here but only now created this account to share my journey because this will help keep me motivated as well as share helpful information along the way.

I am a 25-year-old male, have been working as a backend developer for the last few years, and finally decided to go full-time on making apps because I don't want to keep working for someone else and living paycheck to paycheck.
I love how scalable building apps is and how much of traffic you get organically.

Currently I have 2 active apps on google play, and I am on my way to replicate these 2 apps on app store as well.

I have 1 app that has been suspended by google for stupid reasons, so I am going to focus mainly on IOS because dealing with google is extremely stressful and they don't really treat you like a business man unlike apple, apple is very professional in communication and they huge respect for you, so my main focus will be apple store.

My goal for the year 2023: making passively at least $100/day from both google & apple store, hopefully exclusively App Store.

Currently only made $23 this month of Feb so far, I will be updating my revenue for each month or every other week.

Monetization method: In-app purchases, I don't run ads, I don't even have admob account or anything, I am planning on exclusively making money from IAP as well as paid apps in IOS store.

How do I build apps? I hire mobile devs on Upwork and do the server side work on my own.

Will be updating this thread regularly.
Do you feel that ios store has more strict requirements?

Currently relying on organic traffic.
havn't analyzed abandonment rate yet

I think this whole idea works better than ads.
Well, which OS gives you better CR?
Android or iOS...
Yeah in app-purchase is great if there is market-fit for your product, with ads you will not huge traffic.
don't know what you mean by "CR", I suppose you mean CTR click trhough rate? traffic is way higher in android but conversation rate in IOS is superior.
I didn't analyze it yet, but if let us say we got 100 installs on android, and we made $15, we can make that much on IOS with let us say 30-40 installs, but getting installs on IOS is pretty hard and I still have to figure this out.

UPDATE:
Month july:
apps: 5
profit: ~$2,260(~$1,900 anroid, ~$350 IOS)
average daily profit: ~$72/day

Now this month, things are looking way better, so far:
apps: 5
profit: $575(android: $474, Apple: $101)
average daily profit: $115

I did reach my goal pretty early, never thought this possible when started, especially during mid-april, I was about to give up when I wrote this:
The thing is, it's really hard to scale this to thousands, atleast for me. so I am currently mostly focusing on 2 of my web-based SAAS apps that are high ticket and one client can pay more than the entire payout of the last month.

But now it's making me more than $100/day.
Regarding my SAAS business, when I started this journey I had 2 SAAS, one was related to payment processing which helps grey-hat businesses process payment using some technics, basically it's wrapper around paypal/stripe and it helps with covering your grey-hat business so you don't get labelled by stripe as high-risk, but I ditched this software as it's very hard to scale, everyday is a new challenge which is not worth it, the stress is too much.
the other SAAS is in HR niche, which I am currently working, I hired one developer full-time right now, and will be adding more devs as the project gets more traction.

Now coming to the goal of $100/day which is accomplished, at least for now we're making more than $100/day, so what? do I feel proud or happy? do I feel accomplished? NO, because the more I make, the more hungry I get and I want to scale this to $500/day, but not now, I will be pumping some apps after 2-3 months of working on my SAAS.
I don't want to waste my time with celebrating tiny achievements and let myself decline again, I want to keep this momentum until I break 6 figures income.
The best way to scale is reinvesting the earnings into hiring VAs, devs and automation tools, to make things work without requring your willpower, so if I am lazy/procrastinating I will still have a business that's running because my effort is not required, I believe I am always at a risk since big portion of the income comes from google which is extremely unreliable company to work with.
so the next steps is diversifying my income, hence focusing on SAAS, plus I want to get into e-commerce as well.

When I started this journey, first earnings I shared was like $23 in February, now take a look at the below screenshot:

This is my chance in the online entrepreneurship world, and I should push forward and never stop.

Thank you.

And I still dont know what app to make.
Struggling here in big depression to make anything online..

Maybe app development is not for you, maybe your strength is somewhere else, or maybe you're not willing to take the risk of testing whether it works or not, but it's weird that you can't find a single app idea to make.
