Hello, I've been an occasional lurker here. I decided it's time to join up and what better way to start posting than to keep a diary of my currently in progress journey to $4,000 a month.
How I plan to do this
I have a lot of experience in scraping and developing websites, databases, managing servers etc.. I have knowledge in almost all of the areas related to web development.
I currently have 3 websites online that serve content/data that's been scraped. Two of them are doing pretty decently, the third one is fresh out of the oven.
How am I doing so far
I decided to start doing these projects last summer, around August I believe. Last month I made $1,276 from my two websites.
Timeline
I would like to achieve at least $3,000-$4,000 by the end of this year, but if I'm realistic I wouldn't be surprised if I only achieved $2,000 cause I have problems with finding niches and utilizing them.
About my current sites
First site is more of a service that provides data in JSON form to other developers. I uses a lot of proxies to gather that data. Service has around 200 active clients at the moment and is serving over a million requests a day.
-- brings me around $800-$900 a month
-- not a lot of pageviews / but a lot of clients
The second site scrapes adult content from a forum, pushes the data into my database and then serves it in a more visually pleasing way on my site.
-- brings me around $200-300 a month from ads
-- 5,000 users daily / 70% SE
Third site scrapes adult content from a forum as well, different type of content compared to the second site. Site went online end of last month.
-- no revenue yet
-- 70 users daily so far
Plans for new projects / sites
Don't have any set plans yet... but I am working on a bot that scrapes movies, gets streaming links for them and metadata from IMDB and other sources. Currently have ~70,000 movies in the database. Unsure what I want to do with this data or bot yet.
