[Journey] Making $1000 per month with Content Writing

After sitting on my ass for 2 years doing nothing I have decided to finally stop being a lazy couch-potato and improve my life

Long story short - tried making quick money, failed, got burnt out, rinsed and repeated for months. Then I gave up on making money online and have been unproductive for 2 years.

But now I have decided to change things for good. I always thought of writing content but never did because I never saw content writers boast making 5-6 figures a year.

Now that I have learned from my mistakes and have found that I love tapping my fingers on a keyboard I can say that I am all in. No rush this time.

Firstly my plan is to do some free gigs to make a little portfolio and improve my writing. I have already written 2 articles for a giveaway on this forum and have hosted another giveaway today.

I have to say this, but I felt better than I ever have in the last 4 years when I wrote those 2 articles. Though I wrote for free, it felt like I am not completely useless. It felt good to be productive

Right now I can write 500-word articles, the next step will be 1000 words then 1500 words, and so on. I wish to be able to write 5000-word blog posts one day.

After articles, I will try e-books, emails and newsletters, hopefully to make an email list myself and start my own newsletter.

The platform that I will mainly focus on is LinkedIn. Gonna get big and get those inbound leads.

Gonna make a neat website to go along with the LinkedIn account.

Never gonna go on Instagram tho, don’t have the time and the will to make 10 pic carousel posts daily.

After 1-2 months of improving my writing, I will try out Upwork while pitching to SMMAs to work for them. This will bring a little stability

$1000 per month isn't anywhere near what I dreamt of 4 years ago but I was a dumbass 4 years ago. I can live a modestly good life in my country with this much money and I won’t be sad if this would be my ceiling.

Who knows I may even open a BST here someday!

The endgame for me will be making an SMMA providing content creation services so don't be surprised if you see another journey thread in a couple of years with a goal of $20k per month

I will try to update this thread once or twice a week, depending on how much (if any) work I do.

Honestly, you don't even need to write to make this type of money from writing.

Time for an update. So I have completed the giveaway, but am disappointed in myself.

The TAT for the giveaway was 5 days. I did 1 article within 2 days and did not do anything on the 3rd day. The next couple of days were spent in Holi (Indian festival). I had people staying over and didn't have time for anything else. I should have taken the festivities into account before doing the giveaway.

But I could have completed both of the articles within 5 days if I wasn't so lazy. I mean its just 500 words per article! Any normal guy could have done both of them in 1 day. I guess I can't just decide to change myself and see the change immediately. It will take some time to break the bad habits.

In the next giveaway I will try to complete one 500 word articles a day. Then I will move to 1000 word articles in the next one.

But before that I have to do something else. This week I am gonna setup a clean LinkedIn profile and write about 30 posts for the next month. I am not a social media guy. The only social media account I ever used was my FB and I never posted any pic there ever But I truly believe that I can make it big with LinkedIn.

I did. I plan to provide freelance content writing services. The articles I am writing right now are free. I am doing this to improve my writing skills.

Update time!

Well I did another giveaway of 2x 500 word articles this week and I completed it within the TAT!! And more importantly I wrote an article in one day and didn't procrastinate! My lazy ass is making some progress.

But here comes a little bump in this journey, I have to stop it, but not for long. I have to study for my examinations so I can't carry on with writing for a while. When I finish my exams I will get back to writing and start pitching my services on LinkedIn. Till then this is on pause.

What is the progress mate ? You didn't updated your journey thread its been a while. May be you again became couch potato and lazy ass.

But still one questions:-
1. Using ai or any other tool to help or just brainstroming the topic and writing about it ?
