Just started my journey Today after reading many posts.
Today I spent $48.18 total and I:
1 Signed up for commission junction CPA (free/ did not get phone call) and was accepted immediately. I’m waiting to hear about advertiser specific approval.
2 Signed up for a clickbank account (Free)
3 Signed up for clickbank product to promote and received Hoplink
4 Went to tinyurl website to shorten/change link. (Free)
5 I created a HostGator web hosting account (baby plan) $41.18 then billed monthly around $11.
6 Created a HostGator Free .com websiteDomain
7 Went on Fiverr and purchased “ create landing page to use for affiliate marketing.”
(Website will be complete in a day or so) $7

When researching (on the forums) how to do the above steps I thought about the following: -free vs paid hosting - I read that with Wordpress, it is better to have paid hosting.
- I read about different options for cloaking/changing the clickbank Hoplink. I decided in tinyurl for now because it was simple, didn’t involve code writing etc. However, I’ll research plugins such as pretty link which I read good things about.
- I used fiverr because I’ve had good experiences with fiverr in the past. I’ve never created a website before so it was easier for me to pay someone to create a landing page for the first time. I honestly do not know how to create a landing page at this moment. I’m able to create a blog post on blogger and that is it.

Next steps:
Once website is complete I’d like to create or buy a twitter page to promote free offers. “Give it away” “give it away for free” search in clickbank for more offers. I’d like to learn how to use Wordpress/plugins. I believe HostGator said I have unlimited domains. Does that mean sub domains are free? Hosting is free? I have to figure that out.

Credit given to “W White” for the post that provided helpful clickbank tips

3 Signed up for Clickbank product to promote and received Hoplink
4 Went to tinyurl website to shorten/change link. (Free)

These two I don't recommend to do at least for Clickbank Hoplink
Good luck

This will be an interesting journey to follow especially with clickbank. I wish you luck!

Thanks for the feedback. Since I am in the process of creating a landing page, I can use the landing page link instead of tinyurl.

No worries, as Clickbank can't track properly the Hoplink in a shorten link the they can't guarantee that they will be tracked correctly as "they said" https://support.clickbank.com/hc/en-us/articles/220365867-Using-HopLinks#Troubleshooting, but if you see it is working well then it's ok, your call after all

Good luck

What will be your traffic source ?

I’m trying to narrow my ideas down. It is a “giveaway product” so I’m thinking of starting a “freebie/deals” twitter and Facebook page. (Buying accounts from fiverr). Posting relevant articles/content about saving money(with affiliate links) then posting in various groups. I was originally planning to use Reddit but it sounds like they are very strict.

Good luck with your journey.

Try think outside the box a little more, you are going on a straight path targetting people looking for freebies.

So I am definitely considering Meathead1234’s method post “
Easy $100 A Day - Perfect For Noobs“

Another thing that I’m trying to figure out is if there is a way for someone to look at some of my first items that I create to let me know if I’m on the right path. Example- how does my landing page look? Is there a forum area on that on this website? Still waiting for my landing page to be finished on fiverr.

Landing page on fiverr is done. Just waiting for them to fix a typo. The hostgator hosting costs more than anticipated. In the browser of my landing page, there was the phrase “not secure” listed before my address which makes it look more spammy. I spent more money to purchase a SSL certificate for about $39. What I should have done was created a domain then subdomains. I will keep that in mind. I wonder if I could use tinyurl or some sort of domain/redirect instead of Wordpress and hosting. Another thing that I learned is to choose someone with more experience on fiverr. While he was accommodating with fixing things, he made a few errors/ typos and we had to go back and forth to fix it.

For future reference, Let’s Encrypt offers free SSL certificates.

OP Update: I went to my landing page website and saw that the page was down. Apparently I didn’t verify my email. I just did that and it will take up to 48 hours for the website to be up and running again.

I checked clickbank. At first it showed no sales but then I looked and saw that in early February there was 1 sale!!! Yay : )

I’m not sure how long my site was down. I was focused on my 9-5 job and hadn’t thought about CB This has given me some hope. I used fiverr to help promote the website (submitting to search engines etc. )

I’d like to do more on my own because paying others will get expensive.

-Free hosting is complete crap for a money site. You went with an ok provider, some people dislike hostgator, but I think it's pretty decent for a simple blog like yours and you got a free domain for a year.
-Do get a plugin, organizing your links is a must for the long term.
