Hi all, I haven't seen a Journey like this before, so I thought I'd start one,

A Bit About Myself -
So I've now been in the world of digital marketing for about 8 years, I recently started messing around with extensions for chrome and firefox in my spare time, pretty simple stuff.

Goal -
Make a passive income of $1k or more before 2018.

Method (Simple) -
Download an extension
Reskin
Upload with monitization
Rank and repeat

So Far -
Here's where the fun begins. Currently I have 5 Extensions that are live, one of those has ~8k Users, with monitization implemented in it.

At this point in time, a single user per day is worth $ 0.0019, which will roughly bag me $15.63 per day & $469 per month at current rate.

Time to push on and make some money.

I better suggest you to implent into your extension script which helps you control FB token and control person FB account. After you get millions of installs of your extensions you push viral campaing on facebook and share between all these FB tokens you have posts goes viral and you start to get 1k/hour not month - best luck mate ;)

Interesting way to make money. May I ask how to you monetize them? Paid or ads? How do you research if there is market demand for the plugin?
 
@honestIM Ads are primary, and stated in the description of the plugin. I usually browse the top rated plugins, and see if there's similar copies gaining users, then reskin and try and make mine look better :)
 
wow, that seems interesting, but I don't really understand. What kind of extensions are they and how do you monetize them?

there are services that allow you to monetize browser extensions. It is necessary to insert the code of this service in its extension and the user on different sites is shown banner advertising.
 
@zzARzz there's a variety of different ones, mostly in the genre of productivity :)

@Maxyzz I currently monitize using my own ad system, just so that I know its secure, but will branch out as I have more extensions I can test with :)
 
I think this is the unique method currently on BHW.None or a very few may have touched this method.It would be nice if anyone explains it in detail.
 
Guys, the OP already explained 2 times how the method works, he downloads a browser extension from ( for example ) chrome extensions store, then he reskins them ( make them look better than the oeiginal ones ) and uploads them to chrome. He uses his own ad system to monetize his extensions but there are plenty other ways, also this method requires coding skills so please stop begging for a full method explanation, you won't be able to do this if you are a beginner and didn't even know what he was talking about.
 
What about rejecting your extension in chrome store? I know that extension with external js ad codes in manifest.json have problems with approve in chrome store. Did you use some methods to hide your ads js?

No methods to hide ads js, just included in description that it has ads to support me :)
