i type in every piece of code the instructor types.
Sometimes the end assignments are very similar to the code i typed during the video lectures so i skip those.. No point in repeating myself.

Update
I had almost forgotten about this thread.
I have completed the "Automate The Boring Stuff With Python" course.
And 50% of the way through with the "Python & Django Full Stack Developer" course.
I think I will be done with it in the next 4-5 days.
I have zeroed in on my first project. I will be using an opensource Instagram bot, build a nice interface around it using Django... figure out a way to scrape tumblr based on hashtags. Feed content from Tmblr to IG accounts and use the bot to mass follow/unfollow and like+comment. Totally automated IG growth strategy.

Go with ruby on rails or python, beside web apps, lots of other use cases . Syntax wise,usefulness and speed of development both better than phP.
Php is easier to deploy, it is a useful programming language to pick up, it Is actually pretty easy as well but I don't recommend it as a first language.
Basic programming really is not that hard, just make sure you make the effort to understand what you are writing. To work on it as professional level then it might be a diff story
Remember, basic is the most important thing for all of this hard skill. Make sure u understand them. Example concepts of object oriented, class, instances. For most basic language, it is not too very diff. For e.g python and Django, I am not familiar with it but I could easily pickup and work on it once I spend a few hours to understand the syntax and framework!

Yep, that's why I picked up Python. During my research, Python seemed more robust and flexible for things other than web dev when compared with Ruby (stuff like machine learning and data science). So I decided to go with Python.
In the future I plan to take a course about Data Structures and Algorithms using Python on Udemy, followed by a introductory course to machine learning.
I don't have any plans to use machine learning for any of my projects, more of a hobbyist approach to it. Besides, if anything it will only help to cement the basics of Python into my head.

Good choice, both are excellent language, more use case for python, but if for web development, with the use of rubygems, rails environment is so convenient and easy to use that is worth the consideration.
Also can consider read books (https://stackoverflow.com/questions...influential-book-every-programmer-should-read) if you are serious about programming, especially code complete and pragmatic programmer. I interviewed quite a few programmers candidates and programmers that read and understand these two books basically will be better overall programmers.
