Is it a brand new domain ?

I would suggest first to build your content, then start slowly building links. It looks much more natural if you have a good content in a first place.

If your domain is new. Trying to focus on your content first. In my opinion, at least 40000 words of unique, high quality content before building links.

At start focus on On-Page SEO. Keep adding quality articles and share the articles on social medias. Wait for few weeks, start building quality backlinks and make a drip feed.

Well, paid links are quite a controversial topic, but from my experience - buying link-building 'services' is a huge no. Especially for a new site, as the links would either be crappy, or will look extremely unnatural and obviously paid.

There is SEO for new sites and old websites. Most of the time it depends with how many links / drip feed /

Do your basics like

create fb page / youtube / G+

then create basic web 2.0 blogspot / wordpress etc

after some time create links to them and start seo
