Is there another google update today?

Damn and I thought I was the only one. From #1 & 2 to #3 and 15 and to top off the cake they changed my description from "keyword phone#" to "keyword product" which I don't need as I needed the call to action cause most people would just call...

I don't know if some of my longtail keywords are taken down but primary kw are
ok. Uv dropped 40%

Can't stop laughing with your analog, anyways hes entitle to come on the thread and share his ranking position, if he says there is no movement then there is none.

Main keyword went up 3 spots to #4. Few secondary keywords went down a little. But I have the same number of UV like in the last 4-5 days. So, this update didn't affected me...yet. :music:

Merely joking. I have live stats from Analytics on a separate screen, so need to weigh up for that depressive sight with having a bit of fun.

The person sitting at the #1 position on my screen is mainstreethosting.com for "seo services".

Just did an ahrefs check on his site and almost passed the F out.

150k backlinks from 3000 quality, niche relevant sites such as Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival and Omaha Wedding Venues & Catered Banquet Hall. Alexa show most previous traffic coming in from India. As someone said, Google has gone 2009. Forget about quality, just set your VPS to "just do it mode" and start posting shit.

So fucking true. I can't believe what I'm seeing on some of these SERPs.

Both WH and BH sites seem to be moving up slowly. definitely a lot of movement in general though... Long tails are bouncing up and down 200 places!

Google has really F-ed me too. My WH site was getting about 650k pageviews a day and it's looking like I'll be lucky to hit 300k at the pace traffic has been coming in this month. Spent 3 years building up this site and now we're back to year one

Certainly not overall. Noticing that we are now back to where we started on long tail extreme relevance keywords (of type "buy Knopfeldopfel cheap in the US"), but on the keywords that used to drive the traffic ("buy Knopfeldopfel") we are waaaaay down from where we used to be (on many keywords phrases down from 1-3 to 40-70). Even in our niche the top rankers are mostly shitty sites - blogs with little content clearly built for SEO purposes back in the Wild West days of 2008 or so.

Just to give you an idea of how gaga Google has gone over the last few weeks:

On one of my blogs there is an article titled "How Much Does Celeb Celebson" make (Celeb Celebson being a well-known celebrity). There is a relevant article of about 550 words and a photo. Under the photo there is a small text ending with "Photo by Photo Photoson". The page has only a few external links and a lot of internal links with the title as anchor.

The page used to be ranked #1 (it's a good site with mid PR) on "How much does Celeb Celebson make" (and variations of the same), #3 on "Celeb Celebson" (which was where the traffic was coming from.

It is now #30+ on "How much does Celeb Celebson make", gone for "Celeb Celebson" - and wait for it because here comes the entertaining gaga bit - #1 on "Photo Photoson".

There is not a single link, contextual or not, with Photo Photoson anywhere to be found. The name is mentioned once in small font under the image. The article is without any relevance for any searching for Photo Photoson, but used to have a very, very high CTR for Celeb Celebson.

WHF is Google doing? This is not improving the search results!?! The article was considered very relevant for the previous keywords, with a high (15+%) CTR. Now it is ranked #1 for the guy who took the f'ing picture.

PS! I know, given the above, that the page could need some serious SEO. My point wasn't really to discuss this but rather to illustrate that Google has made some major changes to their algos, and it's madness...

By the way, anyone else seeing keywords disappearing from the Analytics stats? A month back keywords were listed for 90% of the searches to my site, but now it's about 50%, with only 20% on the European searches. Have googled moved more national sites to https searches?
