Is there another google update today?

My site that is completely WH is the one that dropped, pretty weird, hopefully they fix this shit. I was thinking it was due to the fact that the country in webmaster tools was set to USA.

Yeah, things are moving, I am in good shape for now, looking for some more positive results since I did a lot of investment lately.

Yes, it's insane. One of my site (completely white hat with very good content) had been increasing steadily since Nov. Traffic dropped by 50% in the period around 18th to 21st. Then stayed low until a few days back when it went up suddenly and then it has been up and down like a jojo ever since. I keep checking the stats and it's madness. For two hours google traffic will be pouring in and then suddenly it's completely gone and dead for a few hours before it jumps up again. Also big movements in where my traffic is coming from. Lost much of my non US traffic, but US traffic alone is generally up.

A client's site has made some significant jumps today. I was hoping I was just that good.
A web 2.0, single page with spun article just hit middle of page 1 for a very competitive keywords. definitely something is going on. I imagine the owner of the site that got overtaken by the web2 page, scrambling to report the said page for spam/abuse. LOL
Are you doing negative SEO ?

Haha no, sorry sounded wrong. I mean i hope they are updating to fix there dodgy results which caused me .com site to drop.

Exactly my experience too. White hat sites with good content and few but quality links, which have been handled very favourably by Google last few months, taking a big hit. Crappy sites with black hat link building strategies jumping up.
Too bad, really, since I (and many others, I presume), have been listening to signals from Google and actually taken the trouble of building good sites with good contact, and then suddenly it's my old sites with spun crap and ditto links that jump up to the top 3 spots. Either Google has decided things were better in the good old days or this is the result of Google playing around with algos temporarily.
