Ok, so I'm not going to tell you my keyword straight up as someone may steal.

The keyword has to do with insurance, is 2 words and has a competition for 40,000,000 broad search and about 650,000 exact.

Now my question is, if I can get the Exact Match Domain (EMD) for that keyword and optimised my site then what are the chances of ranking well for it in such a large competition?

The reason I ask is that the keyword has a CPC of around $20!

5400 broad searches a month.

The problem I see is its low exact search of 58 searches a month on google, is it still worth it even if its $20 a click?

So all up, is it worth buying the EMD for the keyword and creating a niche?

Cheers for any opinions

no
really 58 a month...
and how many come to your site if you are lets say 8th - 4 or 5 maybe ....

I think EMD is very powerful for SEO but as Toples said you will not get all 58 clicks even if you rank # 1. Might as well find another keyword.

It's impossible to get 20$/click on average. Maybe you will get a few clicks with that value...but the average will be lower anyway.

If you got the EMD, give it a try, it means you got some gold on your hands, considering the search volume

Thanks for your opinions guys.

So what do you recommend for a common rule for finding good keywords?
Any max competition or minimum search?

Any ideas are much appreciated. I just bought micro niche finder which helps me find a load of keywords.

Advice I read on this forum a while back:

An adsense niche is only worth it if CPC x .25 x exact searches x .4 x .05. > $50/mo

CPC x .25 = Estimation on how much $ you will average per click for that keyword

.4 = 40% = estimation of the number of people that click the #1 ranked search engine result

.05 = 5% CTR on your adsense ads.

Very interesting! Thanks!
