Is MOZ spam score reliable?

I found a domain which is similar to my niche with some good link profile. I didn't find any spammy backlinks in the ahrefs. Now there is no footprint on Wayback as well.

Its clean as far as i have checked. But one parameter that concerns me is the MOZ pam score which is 40%.

What i have found in Moz is sometimes a spammy website with all spammy links have 1% spam score and some genuine website with no spam history has considerably more spam score.

What is your opinion about it? Should i go with my research or should i believe the spam score of MOZ.

I wouldn't trust Moz spam score. If you now you've done a thorough investigation on the backlink profile, then go with your research.

First thing google doesn't consider spam score.
I have seen many sites with more than 50-60 spam score ranks higher on google...
just check the backlinks properly if that's relevant to your niche then you can move forward.
one more thing spam score can be reduced.

1. Low number of pages. I can see to a point, but I can make 1000 page site tonight of giberish

2. Cheap domains. I could see that, especially back in the day. .info was it. But now days got more cool domains, .rocks

5, 6 and 7. Google fonts, tag and double click . Do I use that on my sites not sure. Need to double check

9 linkin. I can see that, but most sites don't. What about wikipedia? Not sure if they do

13. Jump shot visits. Are we talking basketball? Need research further

20. High external links. What about wikipedia? What about a huge post for ultimate resource

21. High amount of links. I agree with to a point. Gsa blast?

26 and 27 Words in domain name and anchor text. I agree with, but if they have the same domain as my niche. Then sign me up.

Example I own big booty and I need porn link. I try get link from pornhub

Spam score is total bullshit. I have plenty of pristine clean domains with spam score of 40% and I can assure you, they are absolutely fine.

Being bothered about spam score is like buying a car. You pay too much attention to every little scratch there is, that you forget to take a look whether the car engine even starts in the first place.
