Today, we’re examining whether it’s feasible to launch campaigns consistently without using proxy servers. We’ll analyze the potential risks and situations where you can work without these types of resources.
Risks of Launching Without Proxies
Proxy servers are often considered a must-have for handling large-scale traffic campaigns. IP addresses are masked in Google Ads, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms to achieve better ad delivery results.Affiliates frequently use proxies for account farming and pay around $50 per month for mobile IPs. However, it’s also possible to run traffic campaigns without hiding the real location. The approach you take with the platforms, especially Facebook, plays a significant role in this.
Proxies are used to prevent Facebook from linking “farm” accounts together. For example, if an affiliate runs campaigns simultaneously from 10–20 profiles, the advertising network’s algorithms could theoretically block them all at once for policy violations. However, such cases are rare in practice.
Concerns About Running Campaigns Without Proxies
Disadvantages of Proxy-Free Campaign Launches:- Exposure of the real IP address;
- Detection of links between accounts via IP;
- Potential loss of account trust;
- Higher risk of mass account bans.
Facebook has strong anti-fraud algorithms and various restrictions, but IP bans are very rare. For instance, browsing the news feed at a café using public Wi-Fi won’t result in a ban. Similarly, running campaigns from the same café usually doesn’t cause issues.
It’s important to remember that Facebook’s algorithms are constantly evolving. That’s why one affiliate might see good conversion rates while another, using identical settings, experiences poor results and account suspensions. The outcome depends on a complex set of factors.
Campaigns That Can Be Run Without Proxies
Over the years, several stereotypes have developed in affiliate marketing, one of which is that running Facebook campaigns without proxies is impossible. In reality, some affiliates manage to run campaigns successfully without them.In industry-specific channels and chats, there are discussions that suggest you don’t necessarily need to hide your location or spend hundreds of dollars on mobile proxies for stable campaign launches.
The effectiveness of working with Facebook and other platforms largely depends on the quality of the accounts. Proxies may not be necessary even on agency profiles, and strong farm accounts can also perform well without them.
Account bans and freezes happen frequently even when mobile proxies are used. Facebook’s algorithm typically flags most advertisers, and even the highest authority won’t protect against fraud checks.
The ideal scenario for running traffic without proxies is working within a region where the affiliate is physically located. For instance, there are cases where affiliates in the Czech Republic run iGaming campaigns targeting the same GEO, and they don’t need to hide their real IP.
However, campaigns with UBT (Universal Bidding Targeting) without proxies will be unviable in 99% of cases across most platforms. Farming accounts on TikTok requires the use of VPNs and geo-targeted proxies. Facebook’s requirements differ, but in most cases, mobile proxies are used.
