Is Google Shitting On My Website?

Hi Everyone

The Start
I got motivated a few months ago to start a new site because I saw everyone making sites the PAA method/ai/gpt-3 and that allowed them to capitalize on cheap content to grow a authority site. So 3 months ago, I bought a fresh domain and I started an AI informational website that mainly used content generated by AI. But I didn't want it to be churn and burn so I tried making the site like a brand (if you can call it that), i.e use a short brandable name, I took the time to buy a good website theme and I spent a few weeks designing the website. For the content generation part, I wanted the articles to be as high quality as possible while capitalizing on AI to make it easier so I created a script to use GPT-3 to generate informational articles, and I made sure everything on the website had original non-plagiarized AI content.

Results
It took me about a month and a half to generate 1 millions articles with an average word count of 1000 to 1400 words per article, but that's when it kind of of got weird. I had indexing issues so I bought 30 PBN links rentals on the site as well as 20 edu links on the site and it started indexing ok and I got up to around 500-600 visits a day (mostly tier 1 counties) from bing, but then I got deindexed. It sucked but I remained hopeful as I knew bing was really a small fish in the organic traffic world, and then after a few weeks I got up to around 100k pages indexed by google and around 500-700 searches a day (it was mainly international traffic so CPM was shit) but then since 3 days ago, I think I got shit on by google because my traffic dropped 80% in 1 day and I'm worried I got hit with some algo update or google classified by site as a spam site. (I create a lot of content in a short time, but I made it with a high quality gpt-3 so it was pretty ok content and it wasn't copied or plagiarized content.

I wanted to know if my site is doomed and I should start fresh or maybe I still have hope for SEO success because only 10% of my articles are indexed. I also use Ezoic for monetization on the site so I don't know if they have anything to do with this i.e. (potentially trashing the speed of my site) But any insight on this would be highly appreciated and welcomed. Thank You

Most of the PAA sites got hit with the current google core updates. Looks like your site was one among them.

Try to rid off Ezoic, as I've read many threads regarding the websites slowing down after using them. So, do it as a first thing and then wait for a week or two and then update here.

There was a thread here about only having 10 articles indexed and it seems to be a shadow penalty of some kind, but I can’t find it.

Given that your site is still less than 6 months old, I’d say keep working at it to see if you can pull yourself out of it.

To me, it looks like a penalty. However a penalty doesn’t always mean the end. Is there anything under the manual actions section of your GSC?

I didn’t see any manual actions on my GSC, but I wanted to know if getting more pbn links would help or is my site permanently hindered by this algo hit? Because on one hand I’m a bit dicouraged by this, but on the other hand, i’m a little hopeful because as of today, traffic is still down by 50% but it’s better than the 80% is was down by. And another thing i was thinking was, since 10% of my articles are indexed I still have 90% indexing to go to see if my site will grow or not

Also, check any of your content for factual inaccuracies. Mostly check the pages that aren’t indexed anymore and see if you can find some sort of connection.

I want to say keep growing your site and in a few weeks see how it’s performing. If it’s improved slightly, then see about more backlinks.

Thats what I’d do in this situation.

Did you know that there's a Helpful Content Update a few weeks ago? It's targeted towards AI content sites.

And just by looking at the bounce rate, average session duration and number of sessions per user, we can know that the content is crap.

Is it relatstic to revamp the site i.e images, videos and etc to make the website more engaging so I can turn this algo hit as a way to make the website better or does this mean I should start fresh with a new domain?

With millions of articles, I think it's not worth the effort. If the content is still crap, adding images and videos won't help.

I would kill the site and start anew with a white hat one that is written by real people.

Spammy AI content sites don't last long nowadays. There are still people making money from them, but they have deep pockets and lots of experience in the field. They put up dozens of such sites and rake in the money for several months until Google deindexes them. Then rinse and repeat.

That's right. If you don't like your articles, why would others?

A white hat site that you've written yourself about topics that you care about, that you put hours of effort into, is far more sustainable and will last for as long as you keep writing.

What the numbers show now? How many pages indexed now? And now you still get traffics from Google right? How many IPs per day? And 0 traffic from BING?

Pretty amazing to scrape up, then push out a million articles in a short time. For a "normal website" to create a million articles let alone host them overnight is absurd, don't you think? You might have made it more natural like 5 a day next time, but maybe it worked with others doing this stuff.

I have used automated plugin's before throttling them slowly for posting articles and embed YT videos over several years- just to get an idea of good channels and content- but all that did was rank the videos themselves, and the pages were rarely indexed. Since the video channel wasn't mine, GSC refused adsense even though the articles about the videos were actually hand written. It's a good way to gather up lot's of content through in an automated way for researching- that's it.

The other thing is if you think as search user intent, viewing the search results excerpts shown often give it away as being phony. I have recently seen these phony AI sites rank first page on various topics- and as human's we can see that the site is fake and ignore even clicking on them in the first place.

Damn, I looked and I got only 60k indexed on site:yourdomain.com even though GSC says 120k and my traffic is only 280 per day. But the part that sucks is it's mostly international traffic so my CPM on display ads is like $2.40

I appreciate it man, I was surprised i got it up to 1 million posts, but yea I think the quality was shit. I also thought of embedding yt videos on the posts to increase dwell time on my articles, but what I also thought is this, since google wants YouTube to rank higher in the Serps (because I feel like they want to keep all traffic in the google ecosystem) why would I make that shit easier for them by fucking embedding someone else's video on my post. I feel like it's giving them the bamboo stick to hit me with it. But the funny part is, the content was so shit, someone emailed my contact page complaining about how shitty my content was about the 'quality' of my page.

Install rankmath, use their indiexing tools, add content let the site grow slowly. in 6 month a site will experience a lot. You need to give another 6 months
