I had respect for Google since I stepped into blogging from 2012. In today's trend, Google is releasing updates often to shake the serps. Shaking is good
but, it comes with bugs like indexing issue. When we ask this in Google's webmaster forum, they reply that there is no bugs and it is how updates works.
I didn't know whether we're ranking for the LSI keywords. Ranking is going like random without any stability. Nowadays, we're getting more search traffic from Duckduckgo/Bing which compensates the traffic drop from Google.
Next, the above fold in serp is filled with ads. End user thinks that the PPC ad is the solution they are looking for. I'm not complaining about PPC guys here. I'm just giving my opinion from SEO's point of view.
Then, further the serp is populated with "People Also Ask" panel, YouTube, etc. So, it seems like the first 5 organic search results gets some traffic and the remaining 5 are getting few visits. We can forget about the next page serps for traffic. They are called as zombie page serps.
Whatever the platform you use, it is the reality happening for us. Whether you build quality backlinks or not, Google is doing its random activities in algorithmic updates.
Do you guys have any idea where this is going towards? Do you think that the niche and high authority sites can only dominate in near future? Should we move to focus on other search engines? So that we can think that getting traffic from Google is just an additional advantage.
