Is commenting yet considered as an effective backlink creating method?

My positions decreased slightly after I bought blog comments . I think it's the matter of finding low spam blogs

Yes no follow links have their own value, good for diversity and if you have a money site commenting helps you build a repo with others in your niche.
what about reddit posts that have high engagement? does that have a higher value?

They are not so good now, but you still can use them to get some results.

Diverse links is the way to go - just because commenting can be done in bulk doesnt mean your backlink profile should contain 99% comment no-follow links

get a bit of everything

I have seen an experiment done recently that showed that comment links are still effective to rank in low competition niches. Anyway, any type of link is a good link if not abused and the bklinks profile of your site will look natural

Yup, I do post comments for my money sites, moderated blogs. Don't pay attention to people saying, they are nofollows, most of them are chalas of SEO gurus.

Helpful for most of the money sites to build a reputation among other sites focused on similar interest. Won't influence ranks though

Only if they are from sites with DA 30 and higher and ********.

They're ok on quality niche relevant sites...would recommend brand anchor to homepage for these.
Don't expect a huge push.
Probably best to avoid auto approval comments as well....they often get spammed later on.
