Hard to believe a country from where the virus originated, that has over 1.4 billion people and "only" 90k reported cases with 3k+ deads? Something doesn´t add up here.

The 3k deaths adds up, about 4% of the total confirmed cases is to be expected.
About the 80k infected we can't really know, it's absolutely possible even probable they manipulated the total and then the deaths numbers, but it's also true China was the only country in the entire world to enforce such strict and harsh measures that could potentially ensure such a by the book favorable development. Compared to them the West are a bunch of amateurs, wandering around, too scared to quarantine cities and regions and incapable of forcing the citizens to stay home.
