Is a site like this worthwhile?

Basically, I'm looking to buy expired domains, then either use them for myself or flip them for a profit. I'm still new, so there's still a lot of uncertainty.

For example, I came across a site with these metrics:

External Backlinks: 104,851

Referring Domains: 11

Referring IPs: 10

Referring Subnets: 9

Indexed URLs: 113

Trust Flow: 17

Citation Flow: 14

Decent metrics, from what my inexperienced mind can grasp, but the site ranks for shady (adult) keywords. Too spammy?

Also, how important is niche when looking to use a site strictly for flipping? Do people want sites strictly for their SEO power, or is niche important?

Stay away of domain flipping if you don't know what you are doing.Read Read Read and then Read more before even consider venturing into this.You can burn your capital pretty quick and end up with crap domains.Always try to develop them and gain some traffic.
You have to know that 99.99% of the domains worth something are grabbed before they even drop.There are a lot of ppl that are making a living out of this and have very good tools and experience.Trust me.I did it myself and barely got my money back after a lot of hard work.
Is better to grab some decent domains and spend 1-2 months and develop them and then flip them for something.
Take my advice and stay away if you don't know what you're doing.

I definetly am NOT an expert, but IMO that domain looks spammed like hell.

I don't see you mentioned PR anywhere, this is quite funny.

By the numbers it looks like this domain has one or few site-wide links from some quite big site(s). Just 11 domains, so not spammy at all. It takes just a couple of minutes to check all of them.

Some of domains do not link to this site anymore.
wkze.com is a big PR4 site with a sitewide link to your domain from more than 100k pages
dc2009.drupalcon.org/user/bmoreinis.html - good link
drupal.org/project/pathtrack - another good link
arthurash90.com/ - shitty sitewide link

I don't see any more links worth mentioning, but there might be some other links.

At the moment this domain is n/a, but you might expect it to get pr 2 or pr 3 after next update. This is if all four existing backlinks are going to stay. There are chances these backlinks will be removed, at least both sitewide ones and the one from drupal.org.

Majestic shows some adult anchors, but seems like it is just a bug as there are no sites linking with these anchors.

Overall at the moment this domain could be a decent purchase for any site/satellite related to ppc or internet marketing subject. The risk of sudden drop of most incoming backlinks is quite high though. But it is definitelly better than new domain and worth its' regfee if you do or have a site related to ppc/marketing.
