Hi guys, I've an Instagram account that suddenly had (4-5 days ago) a decrease in my reach. This is not a botted account, I was doing fine until I noticed a drop of about 30-40% in every post. I only post quality so I don't think that's the problem. Is this normal? I'm very angry right now, is it really worth to work for 2 years for this? Anyone also noticed a drop in engagement/reach?

So many other people including me have the same problem. Engagement suddenly drops a lot with no reason. Just keep posting daily and engange with others and it will start recoverying slowly.

Thx for your answer, I already engage a lot with my followers, when you noticed your engagement drop?

Are you doing Stories?
If no, why the hell not
If yes, how many per day, which location tags, what % of Followers in reach?

I think eventually ig will go the way of facebook for engagements, the question is when

We've already seen the playbook with FB pages, just ask most of those guys how that turned out for them over the last 2 years. Spend all that time building a following then the rules change overnight.

Bet on reach gradually being dialed down over the next 24 months and more of the traffic flowing to those who pay. FB have got earnings expectations to beat.

Yeap, same for me.

I run a page with 300,000 followers. I used to get 10/15 k likes per post. I am now down to 3/4k...

I a not selling anything on my page anymore!!!

they keep changing the algorithm so that you will have no option but paying them for reach

I actually switched to business account a few month ago, I thought it might be the reason. After long considerations I decided to go back to personal account. I am not sure it will make any difference...

Yes I do 1 story per day with 1 hashtag, I reach 20%-30% of my followers.

UPDATE: My last post is going well, the only thing I changed is.. I posted without using hashtags. So for me, f***k, I'll not use tags for now

Have you done any sponsored posts before the drop? ie. This post sponsored by, and/or #ad, or #sponsored, etc?

From experience, IG will slow these accounts down, once it knows that they are getting paid. In essence, IG also wants to get paid for your reach on those sponsored posts.

Also, from experience, engagement will never go back to normal. It'll go up and down for a while, and finally settle on the lower side. If anyone else has a different experience, please let us know.

true that, they are loosing all the active users, only the users who has no jobs or nothing better to do with lives only uses instagram and facebook, the people who are really busy do something else and are way more happy.

How big was the account, and how many likes were you getting before, and after the 3 weeks.

I'm thinking about the rest too, even if it's only a few days. Also when this month's license is expired, I'm going to stop botting.
