A lot of factors come into play here..
When you buy the account, are you also getting the email and password associated with the account? If yes, I wouldn't change the email associated with the account.
You also mentioned that the Engagement Rate was good when you buy the account. What were the previous owners posting frequency? Did they post every day? did they archive/delete poor performing post?

In the beginning I start to gain a lot of followers and likes because I post only viral content and my page start to blow up but after a few weeks my engagement go down and my new followers rate go down from 700 new followers to 200A lot of factors come into play here..
