Instagram Algorithm Update (July 2019)

Hi there everyone, hope you doing well

!

In the past days I stopped using powerlikes, as Fuelgram was down, and I was doing really well without those powerlikes. I was able to rank my repost accounts on hashtags and explore and go viral with photos, videos and IGTV. But, since the last Instagram update, I mostly not able to rank anywhere and I'm getting low reach and low engagement.

Any other is in the same situation?
Do you know what changes were done in this July update

Yeah engagement dropped for me as well, not showing up on Hashtags as well as post reach + profile views dropping significantly

Is there one place/ page/ community/ thread where we can read about all the changes happening to Instagram and how it works?

I've noticed decreases in engagement too. The best thing to do is just look at different types of content and see what works. Testing is a huge part of this game. Also, try and see if there is a pattern with other pages in your niche. What are they doing that's working and try and put a unique spin on that.

No there isn't. The algo is just far too dynamic for one person or place to know everything about it. It changes almost every other month.

I stopped Follow/Unfollow 1 month before the bot purge, Grew the month following, sitting at about 20k followers and my posts are getting pretty good engagement (12% +). My suggestions is to stop doing Follow/Unfollow as your account WILL get banned sooner or later, it is only good for early stages. Once you build a small audience interact with them and grow that way, get shares and try to rank on hashtags. Good content is also key, for me some posts can do like 25% engagement while other low quality posts that I randomly posted will only get like 1000 likes or so.

Too many businesses reliying on this income to let it die, including own ig traffic volume dicrease.

Testing seems to be what we should do, at least for the moment until everything stabilize again. For the moment, I've tested and some viral content (according to what post other niche accounts) perform well and some don't. Also it seems that the best performing hashtag technique is the 10+15+15 one again, and IGTV is doing really well.
