The first question that would come to one's mind?
To host a website/Application, why do we need a VPS or Dedicated server at all?
Can't we host our website from our own personal computer(PC)?
The answer is, yes, practically, it is possible to host your website on your own PC.
But what about the site availability?
In other words, what if your PC gets down due to a network outage or power outage or due to disk or system failure?
In that case, your Website will become offline too.
So that's why you will see several hosting/cloud providers claiming 99.xx% site availability.
What is VPS(Virtual Private Server) or Dedicated Server?
# VPS::
Types:
1) VPS with a Shared resource
2) VPS with Dedicated resource
- "VPS with a Shared resource"
VPS resources like(CPU, RAM, etc.) could be shared
Shared resources in a sense; at the same time, other customers of that particular hosting/cloud service are consuming your Remote system resources too.
Unless you are out of your budget, you should never run your money making website on shared resources. It will harm your SEO(Search Engine Optimization) score as well as UX(User Experience).
Shared resources should only be used while prototyping your Application or during the development/testing stage.

Whatever CPU, RAM, etc. is being allotted along with your remote system is solely used by you and only or your application(website).

Therefore, all VPS share the same network interface. In other words, for any kind of VPS, traffic is always shared.
Hosting/Cloud providers are usually set a limit on bandwidth per VPS too.
