Hey, the question is.. WTF?

Yesterday I bought a domain, installed wordpress and last night I put up an article (unique). In the morning my domain was indexed and already on 2nd page after main keyword (low-mid competition).

I haven't done any backlinks!!

the question is... HOW?

That's hapenning often, but unfortunately it probably won't stay there for long... Do your seo work regularly as it didn't happen...

Yes this is not a rare occurrence. I've also bought a domain, set up a WordPress, and published 2 unique articles. The next day, it's on the first page, yet it quickly lost its rankings after awhile.

This is probably the google dance. You must build some backlinks if you want to rank your site.

It is good news that your site indexed, but it is not permanent as it will be dropped soon.
Thus you have to indexed and take help of back linking for making it permanent on page 1 or on which you want.
You can take help of backlinksindexer for this facility.

I know it will drop but I want to encourage all you guys here by posting my story.

Maybe the unique article helped.

Your site is indexed because every time you post on Wordpress it automatically pings your post so search engines could find your new article faster.

Its good that your site indexed but won't stay for a long time therefore done SEO for it.

I have had similar questions about my sites, and I didn't know Wordpress did this.

Be aware that G likes to rank new content high only to derank it later.

About it being a new site though, I have no idea but I get my articles indexed in hours and my site is new too.

My wp site got indexed minutes after installing it, I mean the hello world and the sample page but the homepage got de-indexed later.

That's great, Google loves unique content. Keep it up!

Is your domain newly regged or expired or dropped or bought from someone ?
That might be the reason if its old

I have a 1.5 year old domain. I posted a guest blog on my site. Checked it to see if it was duped, about 3 minutes later. It was already indexed lol less than 5 mins..

Gotta love aged domains :)

You will probably drop off soon (not being negative, just my experience). Lately it seems like any site I build is on the first couple of pages almost immediately, and then drops out of site for a while after about a week.

For one, are you sure that you are ranking based on a keyword and not a specific key phrase?

Some key phrases that I often see people using - have little to no competition what so ever, however people think that because they rank high on key phrases that they are doing well.
