i'm trying for the first time to create a website

Hi beautiful people,

i hope everyone is doing well in this hard time, this is my first time ever creating a website and i'm gonna try to use WordPress, does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap hosting for newbies and maybe a domain seller website? any tips would be appreciated

you can use host gator , it really will help you to get cheap hosting

I will recommend namecheap.. but their shared hosting plan so that you can access cpanel.

That depends if you want to use this website as a project or you are just learning within it.
If you are just learning, you can simply get free hosting.

For paid plans, there are plenty of cheap hosting that you can start with, includes even some in the BHW marketplace.
Start with a shared hosting plan, if things worked out well, you can upgrade later
Some you can pick of:

• NameCheap
• Host gator
• Interserver
• DreamHost
• OVH

And many others...

Interested in this as well. I have domains at namecheap and they have cheap hosting

i have a question guys, if i have a hosting let's say with Namecheap, and later on, i wanted to immediately change my hosting to host gator or any other company can i do that?

Tell, me how serious are you on the scale of 10 (1 being the worst)? WP is a good choice if your score is less than 6. Let me know if not. I will try suggesting you something better.

SHARED HOSTING SUCKS. Don't waste your time. Go for a VPS. If you are a newbie, learn the hard way.

I meant the first one. See, I know that majority of the industry uses WP for even building their toilet. Good enough for them, if it works for their purpose.

You don't have to do this. If you are just making a blog, WP is fine. If not, use something more suited to your idea. Use a framework. Try different languages. Don't go with the tide. And yeah, been doing this for almost a decade now. I think I am qualified to say these.

As for framework suggestions..

Try:

Yii2
Laravel
Django
Flask


As for Language suggestions:

Try:

Python
NodeJS

@Gogol i really have no idea what u just wrote, i'm not familiar with frameworks or languages at all, so if i take this path it's gonna take me a lot of time, and i just want to take the easy way, cause later on i plan on doing a website based on vital articles and an e-commerce one

By all means, stay away from any hosting company from the EIG group.Their service just suck!!! You can do a lot better than getting hosting from any of those companies. In fact, you can get a better deal from the marketplace here.

Hmm take your time. Start with WP if that works, but you don't have to stick to it. Whatever you don't know, let Google & Stackoverflow be your friend. For methods, BHW is the king.

I think @Gogol is right, over the long run learning something more powerful than Wordpress and using self-managed VPS is the best move.

But right now if you know nothing about it then you need to start with the absolute basics.. Follow this video:

I agree. But if its a small project VPS could be overkill.

OP best of luck with learning. 2 years ago I started a very large project as a complete noob at coding/design everything. The higher you aim the more/faster you will learn

This is a very controversial topic to be honest. How do you define a "small project"? A test project? Yeah, shared hosting will be fine. For anything that has more than 10 visitor in parallel, shared hosting just falls apart; depending on the plan. It is much harder to move/upgrade too. This is why I always suggest starting with a proper VPS. If somebody is a total noob to linux, he can always use digitalocean's one click installers.

What are you creating the website for? Business? Just to experiment? A page about yourself?

I do agree, I would never go for Shared Hosting again. But there are tons of alternative out there such as Gatsby Cloud, Netlify etc that works well. But of course these are for a different bag all together.
