For the last few months, I've been hearing all sorts of positive feedbacks regarding Brave browser. It claims not to save your data and blocks all type of trackers and ads which slows down your browsing experience.

Just tried it for the first time few hours ago because my chrome was freezing a lot, and I'm already loving this new thing. It's definitely faster even I've opened up like 15 tabs. Best part, I don't have to use a vpn to access BHW (yes, BHW is blocked in my country for some reason that I don't know of :/ ) and porn websites lol. :P Anyways, there are also few ways to earn through brave. You guys may find more details about it on youtube. I recommend you guys to give it a try for a day or 2 and you'll love it. Btw, I am not affiliated with Brave in any way. Just wanted to leave a feedback for something that I genuinely liked.

Similarly I am planning to dump google for duckduckgo. I scraped a list of 100K pages on google and checked if they're indexed on Duckduckgo or not, around 90% were indexed. So it's not too bad. They also claim not to store your data etc. Brave + Duckduckgo = Privacy at its best.

Using it from starting - it's a lot stable now and is still in beta. I installed it because it's made by co-founder of javascript and mozilla. Mozilla have some closed source code in it and taking money from google so you can't believe in that. I'm using searx and startpage as search engine.

Been using it for a couple of months now, works like a charm!
Even scrapes off ads from youtube and other website.
Plus they're planning to give a share of ad revenue to the users; so a double whammy I'd say :)

I couldn't find the VPN section. How did you enable that?

Don't believe the bs about duckduckgo, do your own research please.

I think you don't need a vpn. just type in the website address :) Also, there should be a brave ico at the top right, make sure that the trackers are blocked and connections are encrypted.

Oh btw, I'm on windows, so things might be a bit different on ubuntu

Brave is a nice browser, but it's still based on Chrome, which is owned by Google. I've used it and still have it installed, but it's not something I'll use very much of because of it's Chromeium back-end. It's nice for the average user who isn't concerned with privacy and can't be bothered to install noscript, adblockplus, ghostery and a handful of other privacy add-ons to firefox.

As far as search engines, Duck Duck Go is great. My favorite was Scroogle, but it got shut down. DDG and Start Page both essentially scrape the results of google and provide them to you without location/logged-in user bias, at least that's my understanding. That is how Scroogle worked back in the day. I think DDG may have switched to using Yahoo's results instead of Big G's.

Sounds interesting, but I work with ads, therefore I do not use ad blockers or browsers that block ads

Yeah i installed it. Never going back to chrome or opera again. Its amazing + Encryption for all seo related stuff.

Brave 4 life.

Don't believe everything you hear about Brave browser. You will feel the consequences later on...

Startpage + Own Portable broswer that I can load with cookie profiles.
Never failed me.
