The first one is the hardest! I had to cold call and apply in person to land my job. I KNEW I had to and it still scared the crap out of me. Get a script and just call and start it. Breathe slow and don't talk too fast. As you do more you just relax. I saw you made some more already and have some leads, way to go! It's easy to get on a roll once you start going. Best of luck on your follow ups and continued success, I need to start doing the same selling websites to small business (cold calls).

See, with just some effort, you can accomplish a great deal. Especially, with cold calling. Cold calling itself is under rated in the business (at least in our sector). I have a person that does it for me. Before that, I did it. If you call 100 people per day with confidence or even without, you will succeed. If you can say you called 100 people everyday for a week and got nothing from it, shit I will pay your rent.

3 calls, just 3 calls a day. Nothing more. Nothing less. Keep calling to you have spoken to 3 people... then stop for the day, then do it again tomorrow. Over time.... monday-friday within 2 weeks you will have spoken to 30.... end of the month you will have spoken to 60!
But you want to be persistent and you want to do it in small chunks of 3.
Can you do that?

I had this same feeling for the past 3-4 days. I had plans to start some new sites but everyday I would wake up and say ok im going to find writers for this project but when the time came I would keep pushing it off.

i have been a offline marketer for years. Before cold calling i prepare my self on what i would say on a call, a few rebuttals and also find more information about who i am calling. if you ask close ended questions for example you will get a high rejection rate. Know how you would get past the gatekeepers and also the way you sound while speaking over the phone, more enthusiastic than dull and boring and above all, on each call, accept the fact the you will be rejected, inspite of which you go for the kill and see the difference!

I know I've literally only been doing it for 2 days but from what I learned
1) know what you're talking about
2) keep a positive mind set "I will make the sale" "I will get this one" "I can do this" "This is damn easy"
If I'm in the zone doing both the person on the other side of the phone automatically becomes interested and is ready to talk.

Read some good books. I used to have to cold call, hated it, but good books help.
Plus why not use your SEO to attract warm leads and let them enter their phone number and request you to call them, and then call them. Thinker Toys is a great book too, reverse what you know to be true and see if you can find a away around it that works for everyone.
eh I ain't gonna give you shit because cold calling is the shittiest form of sales ever. Have you considered hiring someone? It's not for everyone.
