Surprised to see such a question from a five-year member.
Press Release services don't provide much SEO-related value due to most using no-follow links.
However, they're good for diversity, and if posted on a highly-trafficked magazine website, beneficial for direct traffic too.
Be sure to check the Spam Score and SEM Rush stats before securing a post, especially if paying in the $xxx range for a post.
You can view PR services available to you by searching the forum, but before ordering, be sure to read current reviews to see the results others are having with the service.

so you assume anyone who wants press releases, all are for the same reason?! I am surprised that you think this way!
i want to see why he wants press release. traffic? serp improvement? branding? he could be disappointed from the press releases based on his objectives.
