I Failed, But I'm gonna get back up

Here's a bit of background on myself.

I'm in a really tough moment in my life at the moment, I'm turning 23 soon, just finished my degree in IT & working as a software developer full time which unlike most of you might think is not reaping me lots of money & I have to pay my school debt. I need to take a decision of what I want to do with my life, I would really like to go on a working holiday abroad but I want to be successful in this IM game as well but it's just not happening.

Being here for almost a year much knowledge has been gathered. Action has been taken & lessons have been learned but still I fail again.

Just recently I had my greatest success yet after I found this great method on youtube, developed a bot & managed to make around $200 in 1 month. I tried to scale up but youtube decided to make some changes and this method succumbed to failure.

In the meantime I started an authority kind of website back in December & is still not getting much traffic although I did have some amazon sales through it. I have had past success in ranking websites but it just keeps getting harder & harder, I've been putting lots of work in & I have nothing in return which demotivates me.

I'm not the kind that likes to ask for help since I like doing everything on my own but if you have some words of wisdom, much appreciation will be given.

If you are good in developing bots I suggest you to make a little research about what kind of bots would people want. You can create a website for selling your bots , do some SEO for the site and profit .
 
Keep going, make site about what you want to make a site about and push that as much as you can. Then make some sites to make as much money as possible.

From someone who doesn't have one - trust me, not having a degree would cost you later in life. I've lost out on a number of good jobs where I was the best candidate, simply because I didn't have a degree.

Your authority website - are the keywords you're targeting too competitive? Are there other keywords you could focus on?
 
Just make sure to learn from your mistakes, that is what I first did wrong in IM. Remember that methods like the Youtube one that made you $200/month are good for short term cash for investing in other projects that could make you sustained and potentially autopilot earnings (like your authority site).

If Youtube updated then it means that it will be harder for your competitors to use the method as well as you and it means that the market is less saturated and more $$ for you if you manage to find a way around the update
 
You are never a failure till the time you keep trying

In the journey of success,a lot of roadblocks will come, but that's what differentiates successful people from unsuccessful ones !
Some people stop digging when they are 3 feet away from gold, and those who keep trying get greater rewards !!

Just keep trying, and whatever works, focus on scaling it up! you will keep learning on your path in the beautiful journey of IM...

Remember, A bend in the road is not the end in the road.

Failing is just a learning experience. A failure is one who did not learn.

Learn from what you did and apply it differently.
 
You only fail when you stop getting up.

Otherwise you are just learning.

Don't tag yourself a failure until you stop getting up.

Life lesson #1.
 
Seems a lot of people are reevaluating their goals lately. If the bot think worked for you before, take the same principles and apply it to something new. If you're ahead of the curve one of these times with it, you'll have the time to scale it before they crack down. ;)

Actually not that hard, I managed to get one of the keywords to first page (#9 or #10) but no traffic from there obviously because it isn't top 5. Other keyword is around #7(1000 exact searches/month & buying keyword) & getting bits of traffic from there but after this panda/penguin shit I don't know what works & what not I have to find some time to experiment manually obviously as I have no SEO software.

Actually I see a few implementing this method on a large scale but 99% sure they have resources which I don't have - proxies & accounts

That's the mentality one needs to adopt, I feel really close to success, just need to keep looking.

Thanks all for your kind words, so for now I'm gonna try and focus on what's currently working for me. So I will try to rank some inner pages of the authority website maybe I can get more sales through amazon.
 
For me you're not a failure as you still sold amazon products which I never did. Why not scale that up? I mean create more amazon review websites.

Infact at the moment I'm trying to scale that in terms of quality. So I will try to push the amazon pages in the front positions of G in order to get more traffic. In the meantime I will also try to write some more reviews around 3-4 per week.
 
just keep on building links - stay diverse and you will be golden. link building is still a must for ranking despite what some might say post penguin.. Ill keep passing the sites not building links..

ill say it again tho, stay diverse and make it look natural and limit your footprint.

What you describe is learning, not failing. You just have to keep trying, try all kind of different things and don't give up on one fast. Keep trying and you'll find what works for you. Everyone has a different set of skills and has to learn how to make money with them. It's not the same thing that works for everyone and IM is bigger then anything else and the competition - compared to other things is little (e.g. retail, finance, ...) you just have to find your spot..
keep trying! we all lose money... but unless you stop trying, you will gain it back :)
