I Am Giving Up On SEO

I feel your pain. I've been there.
But SEO will never go away.
It's not like some day Google are going to wake up and say:

"You know what - we won't have a number 1 in our index anymore" or
"We won't have a criteria to decide who goes where - we'll just roll a dice and the lucky site goes number 1"

While Google uses a method to decide which sites are worth ranking highly;
People will look to see what that method is and comply to it the best they can
That is SEO

SEO is not link building, it's not content, it's not social signals, bounce rates, time on site, fast loading times or clean code.

SEO is doing whatever the "SE"'s want in order for them to consider your site "O"
At the moment it does rely on some of those things in the list above, but that's just history, the future of SEO is whatever Google decide it is.
You either play ball - game them, or find better ways of getting traffic.

Good luck OP. Anyone who has been in the business a few years has most likely been through what you are going through. You might be back. I was :)

Yes you have points here. It is just that for now i want to focus my strategy on other methods.
When i make and save enough from other method i may come back to SEO.

i have a income in set traffic but its getting a real pain in the ass.
its getting more and more difficult to survive against the big players. even long tails are not easy to rank any more.

so its work ...not as years before where it was easy
 
I know a lot of people who used pbn's and didn't get hit.. Did you use excessive exact anchor text?

What was your anchor text profile like as well as your back link profile?

Did you have any legit back links or was it all spam?

Also did you use GSA and send all of those spammy links to your money site or buffer?
 
seo is dead, gsa is dead, blackhat is dead...all these things buried deep in the cemetery!...common threads in most IM forums....then how come there are successful journeys and successful posts here?....everyone is not saying the same thing....that means somethings still work....we need to read and think of different methods that still work and maybe test test test....but it does take a lot of time and money.....not as easy as it was 10 years back.....why the hell didnt I get into this earlier :(
 
I have many legit backlinks mainly from press releases and guest posts to money sites.

Web2.0 as second tiers and then GSA to web2.0 .

Like i said SEO is a gamble sometime you win and sometime you win. I have experienced both.

It is that for now i want to go on recces for SEO and come back.

SEO is not dead, it's evolving.
Look at a different angle. There still a lot of people that has just starting to learn SEO.
And still, lot to improve, don't give up yet.
 
Had highly profitable sites hit in the past and it hurts.
It's how you come back that counts - what you learn and what you can do better this time.

Way to much money to be made to give up.
 
yes, SEO is dead everyone...

Please stop trying, give up forever (leave the money making to the pros)...
 
Have you thought about what made your site tank? And maybe... if you find out what made it tank.. maybe.. just MAYBE.. don't do that shit on a new site?

I know that it sounds like a cliche but what doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger. Don't give up on SEO. Use the BHW knowledge to succeed.
 
How nice of BHW to have people who tell you not to give up. All it takes is persistence. SEO works and will always work. I do sites on niches I really know about though, and can be a real authority in. If your just selecting random spammy ideas because its popular niche, then Im not sure how good that works, I'm sure there is some success but I can imagine it'd be harder.
